I fell in love with Jags decades ago when my father (a collector) and I went in on a 1954 XJ-120. My second Jag was a 1968 series 1 E-Type, this is my third and current ride, a 1990 XJS V-12.

Lots of fun to drive and it is getting to be top down weather here now!

Beautiful! Wow. That must be amazing to cruze around in.

BTW What part of Chicago are ya from? I am up in Waukegan.

..

XJS's are starting to become much more beautiful. Especially the convertibles, love them! Any pictures of the Jaguar E-Type?

Saw the same car last week with the top down, very nice looking ride. Good buy 👍

Thanks guys, I have a lot of fun with her!

@ BloodyPenguin: Was from Crystal Lake area, but moved south with my last job. I just still list as Chcago since it is easier than explaining...everyone knows where Chicago is 👍

@ MedigoFlame: I know I have some, but will have to look. Looking for my old muscle car pics also. Problem is scanning prints, does anyone know of any picture editors that will convert scans to JPEGs?

@ Thatman: Found one, typical of Jag, if you need an inch to work in they give you 3/4

oh my, cool though! 👍

And you thought that great big long sloping hood was just for looks? That V12 is one big motor they have stuffed in there! When I had the E-type there was one import specialty shop in town and they wouldn't touch it, I found out why pretty quick. Jags are not fun to work on!

And here I caught myself complaining about removing the battery and washer tank to get at 2 spark plugs on my Subaru. Ever had it dynoed?

Very nice! I love the xjs coupe there arnt many on the road though unfortunately. I heard they wernt that popular when they came out.
I think they look better without the front fogs...

Yeah, it wasn't popular at all when it was introduced, but I've always liked it* and it is turning into a proper classic car now.

Nice car, MustangManiac.... 👍

I think the thread title should be more appropriately called "My Jaaaaaaaaaaaaag" 👍

Thanks again guys.

@ Thatman: Was dyno'd at 305 when I first got her. After mods, best guess is around 400. You won't find the battery in the engine bay of an XJ...it's in the trunk :)

@ Slick Rick: No, they were not popular at first, they were the replacement for the E-Type. In my opinion one of the most beautiful cars ever made, a hard act to follow. Wish I still had mine, but if I did I would probably just sell it and pay off the mortgage so I guess it doesn't really matter :indiff:

@ ND4SPD: Agreed 👍

@ Legendary: No, certainly not a daily driver, gets between 8 & 9 mpg, city and highway! With premo fuel and pre-mix additive, it is near impossible to find the suggested octane value at the pump these days. She is stored in a friends shop about 6 months out of the year. The snow pics were from when I first got her, it was December and there was no way I was going to go 3 months without taking her out! By the way, 200mph rated Michelines are not worth a d*mn in the snow :nervous:

 That reminds me of when my friend had to drive his corvette back in the snow.

Oh and have you seen the "Wheeler Dealers" episode for an XJS?
