My opinion on what should be on GT5.

Well first of all im a new member.

Anyway i think that there should be more initial d cars in GT5 like the Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX (AE86) Shuichi Shigeno. Like Kt's carand Ry even Aki if possible. They should have the same exact body kits, feeling, color and sound of the characters' cars from initial d. The more initial d cars available in GT5, the more interesting the game will be.

Secnd, it wil be way better if the game would give you options to install body kits with lots of combinations like the "NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND" series.
I think that the GT4 has poor features of colors, rims, and spoilers. There shoud be more like the spoiler from the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 (j) '98 or the MR version. If that was on a yellow FD (Mazda RX-7 '91 and up) with custom muffler tips, it will look exactly like KT's car.

I would love the game to have access to different decals from different companies. Also to have the option to cahnge the position of the decals and to change the colors too.

There was one thing missing from the Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX (AE86) Shuichi Shigeno Version. It was the custom fog lights. So when they are going to include the car, they better not forget the custom fog lights.

This is waht i would love and wish that the GT5 game would have. That is the mountain passes. Especially the hardest most dangerous in Japan. If the GT5 game has those courses, no matter what the price, i would desperately buy it. But they better include the exact details, especially from Mount Akagi.

Sorry for makinfg my opinions long, but the GT4 was missing alot of things.
I hope in anyway, someone can contact the makers of Gran Turismo 4 and tell them what the GT5 game should have.

Well hope to hear some replys from anyone.

First of all, Touge's Darknes, welcome to GTPlanet. I am John - usually the opinionated, don't give a crap if you don't like my views kind of person.

I have seen a few Initial D cartoons. Kind of wished I could see more, but the DVD I had borrowed from one of my brother's friends was all scratched up.

(1) A number of Initial D rides are in the game. Not exact ones, but you at least get the street car, then be free to mess it up however you want. For example, you can get that 4WD R32 Skyline like the Night Kids dude. Want to be a Red Sun? Get a yellow Mazda RX-7 FD-type model. An AE86 is still an AE86, so get the special edition from one of the Used Car lots.

(2) If you mention NFS:U and want the same customization in GT games, you are going to get HATED for it. Trust me. So, if you want to get hated for mentioning this game in relation to GT in a positive context, then let the hate comments fly.

(3) We often comment that there should be a paint shop option, but many will tell you that Gran Turismo is not about "ricing" your car. So if you're talking decals like NFS:U or stuff like that, then you're not going to get a lot of friendly comments on that, unless another person shares the same NFS:U interests that you do.

(4) A mountain rally would be quite interesting. You know, have your own Mt. Akina adventures on late Satuday Night with no police or traffic around. Personally, I'd like it as a rally course option. But I think if you're going to have mountain roads, it should probably be a rally stage, or simply its own rally course. It would also be drift friendly, don't get me wrong.

Other than that, making threads about what YOU want vs. what many others want don't really end up as good threads. I'm being a nice guy because I don't like blasting on newcomers. I certainly have some old and new threads in this forum, so if you see something of mine you may want to reply to, you are free to. Okay? So welcome to GTPlanet and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to GTP, I pretty much agree with John on all points.

^^absolutely

no paintjobs!!! no bodykits!!! no neons!! not even decals!!! that's the way i like it

if you want a ricer game go get forza or nfs:u

i absolutely hate hearing people talk about 'GT needs customization... it needs this, it needs that, and they go on about with all their ricer thoughts and views, blah blah blah'

PS. i'm not talking about you Touge's Darknes, i didn't even get to read your post properly because it was too long  . i just skimmed the last couple replies

Well I dissagree with that, we should be allowed to paint our cars and kit them up, but not in the same way as NFS:U, no neons though, big no there. I hate the way someone mentions bodykit and people jump on him for being a ricer and say go play NFS:U, GT1 and GT2 had bodykits, GT3 and GT4 have wheels which do nothing to your performance, and GT4 has wings which all do the same job but vary in looks alone. A super GT car has a body kit, a GT1, GT2 and GT3 car, has a body kit. A DTM touring car has a body kit, an Aussie V8 supercar has a body kit. I think functional bodykits would be a huge plus for the GT series, as for paint jobs, once your car looks like a race car it's be nice to be able to get sponsors to go with it.

^^yes yes... functional bodykits and wings are OK. i mean outrageous wide bodykits etc. like the ones with all sorts of useful vents and hood scoop

Me personally, SOME body kits and such don't look bad on a car. When I was learning about cars and getting used to the sport compact/tuner movement, I got to know of companies like Bomex and the love-it-or-hate-it Veilside. Would I want bodykits altogether? No. Reason why is because I don't think there's really a place for such modification of cars, and the fact that not a lot of us are going to agree with having these in the game.

This may be an overplayed and over-discussed topic, but I think the other day, I seen a nice red Honda S2000 with white racing stripes, then silver wheels with red accents. It looked quite nice. Would I want to be able to do that in a GT game with that level of modification? To me, maybe. Only as long as I don't come off with stuff like vertical doors or anything like that. And in the context of a racing game, I think adding stuff like big stereo systems and such add weight to the car and don't really equate to a performance car.

All I'm getting at is that customization has a lot of gray areas. What level of customization is acceptable and fair in a GT game? I don't know if the motor for tuner-style modding comes from "Need for Speed: Underground," or the modding you can do in Forza Motorsport (which includes bodykits from what I've heard and seen). What is acceptable in talking about customization and what isn't? I just don't know how to judge acceptable customization and unacceptable customization to be honest.

Lo!

As previously stated in previous similiar topics:

Paint, functional bodykits, custom/ bodyblend spoilers, blah blah blah, etc.

I'd love to have it, and hate the haters who don't!

BTW: Just my opinion.

That is all.
