Hello GT Members,

First of all, I wanted to thank all the GT-ers for having this forum, I really enjoy all the topics in this forum. (Sorry for my English, I’ll hope that it is readable!)

I have been playing GT5P now for about 8 months and I’m really addicted!
In the beginning I was playing with an controller but pretty soon I got my hands on a DFGT.
A nice wheel but it needs an standard, an iron board was my first setup.

After searching the internet I came on this site. I found out that there were a lot more freaks like me.

So I went searching for a new setup. The seat I bought was a Playseat Classic complete with a TV stand, solid iron floor, seat slider and a box underneath the chair for € 150.
The DFGT fits well on this seat. But I wanted more en sold mine DFGT for G25 second hand but never used for €130. This is a cool wheel for the seat, only the pedals doesn’t fit.
I made it first with an MDF plate and some tape but it was not good enough.
Gladly there is a raceseat god called  “Chilicoke” who describes how you can mod your G25 wheels, shifter and pedals. Thanks to him I could take the step for modding the pedals on to pedal plate of the playseat classic.

Here is a pic of the pedal setup:

I made it from MDF Wood and I also made an "dead pedal" from MDF. I used the original measurments/distances from the Logitech G25 pedal plate. Then I painted it black and glued some carpet on the areas where my heels hit the plate. ( I get cold feet from the metal pedals and seat )

Then I saw some where that there were racers how are using a “Buttkicker” for more realistic racing in a seat. These were too expensive for me but a aura bass shaker are a lot cheaper. I bought a pair for €30.-
I screwed these underneath the seat and in combination with a surround set and an extra amplifier my seat shakes when I hit an curb. Really cool! Big time!

Now I’m still dreaming of a new screen so I can play in HD Ready or Full HD.
But I'm not sure which size the screen must be. And I was thinking about a beamer but they are expensive.

I’m also thinking about modding the shifter but I’m not sure if I can find the “o-ring” and the right spacer so that I can fix more resistance in the shifter.
I was hoping if there were some other guys who already made this mod and can explain to me where I can find these items.

I hope you like mine setup! It works for me perfectly and maybe this will give new ideas about modding raceseats!👍

Nice setup!! I´m building mine in this moment. I was thinking about the shakers. Are they worth the money? I´ve seen them for 50€. Do they shake well?

You mean this ring?

The shifter mod is verry easy for the o-ring i have used wide elastic like this:

And like allways sorry for my English:ouch:

I just completed the resistance mod on Sunday, it was very easy. I used Chilicoke's video as a reference. I found both the spacer and o-ring at Home Depot. I'm sure you could find them at any local hardware store. Good Luck!

👍 I'm glad you found my guides to be helpful. wnabm3 is exactly right, you should be able to find the o-ring at your local pluming/hardware store. The spacer can be made out of anything with similar diameter, even chopsticks from your favorite Chinese restaurant.

Dead pedals are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any cockpits.

Thanks for the compliments! :)

I think they are! The chair shakes during racing because of the engine sounds. And when you hit a curb or something else which makes a bass sound it will vibrate!

You have to keep in mind that it is activated bij bass sounds.
The best thing you can do is amplifie the bass tones. I did it with the like this:

Sound from the PS3 goes to the surround set. And I splited the signal from the subwoofer too the subwoofer and the amplifier. Now I have only the lower tones amplified. Put the trebble to the minimal to reduce the enviroment sounds. With the bass you can adjust the "shake".

And i really think that it is a cool option brings the racing to another level.

One more thing about this, each car in GT5P has a different sound, it can be that you have to adjust it. I'll hope you know more now.

Well I have to order some then! HaHa:dopey:
But the measurments of the O-ring:

*Use a rubber O-ring with 1/4" inside and 3/8" outside diameter

Is that in european distances (cm's or inches?) I'll hope you know what I mean....

those distances are in inches

as far as the spacer goes, I have heard people using 3/16" solid steel rod and simply cutting it to size.
As long as the dimensions are correct and it's made from a sturdy material you should be fine

Well, I did the resistance mod yesterday and it works for 75%!
I had a spacer and that works good.
But I didn't had a O-ring. I uses a small elastic. This made the resistance for reverse heavier but it goes very heavy. And it also goes very slowly up.

I have to search further for the ring.

But shifting from 1 to 6 is heaver now!

I also made an small error, look good when you put the shaft back in.
When you do it wrong like me, than you put the logo from the shifter upside down.

I'll will fix this when I've a new ring.

Thanks for all the info!

This can be easily fixed by applying plenty of thick grease/lubricant on your elastic to help it glide easier.

👍

I've searched further and I found an O ring just like in the video. So I replaced the elastic for the ring. Its much better now. :)

Thanks for the help!
