My Rx7 Braking Drift.

well.....the drifting wasnt all that good.....not much angle.....and they wernt that long......fast tho.....try lowering ur hp and using slicker tires....with some practice youll be a lot better

show drift is ok but it dosen't take much skill when you use low grip tires i use full grip i can do the show drift but there slow i rather do fast drifts if you can pull a fast drift with full race set up i think you got skills

i have to dissagree....i think that race drifts are much easier...i used to do those back when i was beggining...all you have to do is floor it...with show, you have to have precise throttle control and counteesteer...well....thats what i think....but hey, we all think different..

true we all think different i had some cars set up just to be tail happy and i found it borring just drifting it most of the times my lap times were just not even worth mentioning but they look pretty good so i decided to see if i could i use drift to get better times and i got possible now i just try to see how much i can improve my times with drift instead of just slidding at low speeds.

"Race drift" is an oxymoron.

Under no circumstances is drifting faster than grip.

"If you can drive a car right on the limits of the tires' traction capacity, only then can you achieve the fastest cornering speed possible."

This guy shuns drifting on sims and boasts his skill in drifting cars with super-high grip tires, yet he can barely hold a single corner drift with a 300ps FD.

*gaff*

I was watching F1 on ITV the other week and the commentators mentioned that an F1 car is fastest through a corner with a 5-15% slip or something like that. If you watch a Ferrari in the cockpit view the cars slide slightly, I wouldn't call it a drift - but I agree grip is faster than drift, especially as drifting is about losing traction. I only ever 'race' drift when I'm feeling lazy to approach the corners properly with a grip setup, but in those situations I use an overpowered car :guilty:.

ACtually, that looks similar to my runs except I have more angle in the first few corners going up the mountain. Nice Double before heading down after the big left hander. That' the fun way that I like to do it.

Anyway, not bad at all. Not my fav Initial D song but it's all good. Do another one!

Grip is indeed faster than drift, which has been discussed, and agreed upon, many times over...... Furthermore, there is skill in speed drifting as well as exhibition drifting. However, exhibition, takes more precise throttle/steering control, and if done correctly (smooth, controlled) looks a hell of a lot better..... Speed drifting is more about quick reflexes, which also takes skill, and is good practice to increase grip skills IMHO......

It's all about prefference.......

;)

first of i'm not going to touch the grip vs. drifting thingy... second i'm going to have to agree with monkey magicx's assessment of this video... the drifts seemed a bit short... but hey i'm a show drifter so uhhh if ur into that race drift thing thats ur perogative... but hey keep practicing and have fun with it

the angles arent good, and the drifts doesnt even finish, cutting the corners = big no no, speed is what almost redeems the video

The humorous note here, is that you contradict yourself. You went for Inital D style (apparently you haven't worked up your own style) and did it for the fast drifts.

Isn't Initial D all about the show drift? Oh wait, that's right, it is about racing, not show.

Shall I beat you about the head and shoulders on your grammar? OR should I invite you to showcase your exceptional fast drifts in the weekly race series? You've apparently got the skills to move fast, so why not give it a shot?

FYI: this is called an "ego check"

... I liked it! Speed is good! I thought I'd NEVER hear the day when someone who liked cars would EVER say, "SLOWER! SLOWER!!!!!!"

... I'm ashamed of ALL OF YOU... just kidding :-D

I like this car speed but not the drifting it is a bit weird you have to hold your drift until the end of the corner to make it look good

i was using the best grip tires super soft and if you exit the corner drifting it to much chances are you loose a lot of speed and it will look slow while getting speed again or you will spin out to post the vid first i capture it with my capture card on the pc then i edit it with WMV there codecs make the video really small then sing up for angelfire and and you get 20mb storage free and just upload it and post it oh and i'm not here to win a grammar award so i don't care how i post on this forum if you don't like to bad keep the comments to you and in initial D the point of takumi drifting the turns was to enter and exit fast so think about it .
