Hi guys, i'm new here, so please go easy...

i bought a Honda S2000 Type V from the used cars and max it out before money went dry. So i started the first series of races in the japanese championships, cuz it's 7500 credits per race and a final prize 35000 plus a car. I tought this is gonna be sweet. WRONG!! Got my ass whiped by those nasty NSX type R( two of them... its just not fair...).
What puzzles me its, i always start really well, jump in front of the competition very soon and in those short circuits i get miles behind me and them...
I need some help to get more speed on this sucker, because acceleration is not an issue. I have Full Custom gearbox from HKS, Full Custom suspension , the works...
Some advice please? Thanks guys

Is it topping out and hitting the rev limiter on your race transmission? Are you losing on the straights?

yeah post some lap times... you're running sports tires right? are they wearing out by the end of the race? try putting your stock suspension back on and braking a little later in the corners, see if you get better lap times.

also, do a search for s2000 in this forum, there were just s few new settings posted recently.

its not hitting the rev limiter, its got more juice to go. In the gearbox i'm using autolevel 21 with final on 4.000

Could use a little advice or a few tips on the gearbox settings, cuz everything else seems to be ok.

Hmm, gearbox setting at 21 seems too high. I might try shortening your auto level setting to maybe 11 or 12. My S2000 has around 300hp and I can beat similar competition with no problems.

So it's topping out below the rev limiter, in other words, it's power limited by drag.

Look on the OLR School board for something called the Gear Trick for a good description of the best way to set up a transmission for GT3 and GT4.

Qualify at all locations, and take note of RPM at the end of the longest straight. Go to tuning and adjust either your auto or final until you are just about to redline before braking at the end of that longest straight. Also is it just speed? How's the handling?

Tried out some of your ideas, decreased the gearbox autoset from 21 to 13, with final on 4.000. The suspension i kept it as it was, because it handled like a beauty before and good things are worth keeping as they were.

Still, i apreciated every comment and input you guys gave me. As i left it, it was doing a top speed of 302 km/h, with sport tires holding their own for about 5/6 laps.

Thanks again, guys. 👍

And the oil change? Used cars come with filthy oil.

Hey man the reason it's the torque that makes you jump off the line. since you have the full gear box take it off and get some nos. Then get the racing settings for it and tune the engine. Once you have that send me a private message and i'll have the settings for you. Laters from tidusf430

That makes absolutely no sense.
