My situation

I know there is many threads about the Gran Turismo World Championship but I wanted to explain the situation I was in first and have people give me suggestions about what to do.

Right now I am trying to beat the World Championship and the only LMP cars I have are the Mercedes CLK GTR and the Jaguar LMP car.

I tryed racing with the Mercedes with all different tire combinations and just got completely owned in the first race. I havent tryed the Jaguar yet but should I even bother??? Which ones the better car for this championship???

Has anyone ever won this chamionship using either on of these cars???

Right now I have no money and saving to 3,500,000 to 4,500,000 will take forever. I also just passed day 1400 so Ill have to wait another 700 days to get any of the black cars. I really dont feel like doing any of the Endurance races because they also take forever.

What do you guys suggest is the best thing for me to do???

The Jaguar is a purple tire eater, and the Mercedes does not have the adequate downforce. You have to be a good driver in order to win with those, and of course good setup. Just do the DTM and sell the Mercedes CLK GT-R's, as doing that will get you 900,000Cr in about 20 minutes in B-Spec or so, if your DTM is tuned.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=86704 There is a source of information I got when I started on GTP.

The El Capitan enduro only takes about two hours to drive. If that is still too long, it can be B-specced in about 42 minutes. Either way, that'll give you the Toyota 88C-V Race Car. If you still can't win with that car then you need to improve your driving and come back to the race later.

There is a wealth of information available here on this race in particular, just do a search or two.

So TuneRVisioN what would you choose if you had to the Mercedes or the Jaguar??? Also could someone give me a good setup for the Mercedes???

If I still dont come close after that I probably will get the Toyota Minolta like BobK mentioned

The Jaguar of course, as it has enough downforce and HP to crush, kill and destroy... :mischievous: The mercedes wouldn't be all that great with a setup, it would drive like a 1000HP DTM fully modded, since the downforce is lower. You are better off buying the Nissan R390 GT1 Road car, tune it to 870HP, add a wing, raise the downforce, and you got a Road car with slightly more downforce than a race car. :) Plus you save up to 3.25 mill... Trust me, you need settings for that car, which I will post tomorrow or something.

But really, you're best off doing just what BobK said: run the El Capitan Enduro, enjoy it, and walk away with extra cash and a free car easily capable of winning the GTWC. That's exactly what I did. The 88C-V is fun to drive and is competitive with the GTWC field. I won from last place in all races except Paris Opera in my stock prize car.

That car cooks rear tires too much IMO. And it is very unstable, better off with a Mazda 787B with turbo, since it has more even tire wear, the Toyota 88-CV is so rattly... That is why a Pescarolo is best, especially for other races if you are B-Spec-ing them.
