yes well its a miracle that only last month a friend managed to get me a (pirate) copy of virtua fighter 4 and me being a total newbie on that game (cause I'm a tekken man) struggled when I started to play it and for a long while now I have progressively got pretty damn keen on it but then the next day the same mate came round and whooped me at it and he doesn't even own a PS2 which left me frustrated. arfter all the hard work on traing and learning the moves a total novice beat me at it which leaves me to say that virtua fighter 4 is definitly not for people who want to learn and generally be keen on the game because a total novice could just whoop you on the game in a second though its good for a quick bash I'll give it that but nothing there in the lond run like tekken so beware unknown ps2 owners who don't have a decent idea about VF4 I'll just say if your into to tekken then personally I say don'y bother getting it unless if you just want a quick bash but if your into dead or alive then go for it they both nearly play the same way as it is

Oh no, no, no, no, no.... Virtua Fighter is much deeper than DOA3, and the move list is pretty complex to say the least. I'm still a fan of Tekken and Soul Edge/Calibur more than VF, but VF is just as good a series in it's own right. It's just a much different feeling game than anything else out there once you really learn the nuances and how to pull off the more complex maneuvers (And timing is of course everything.)
I'll buy this game when it comes out, but Soul Calibur 2 is what I really want....
:)

yeah your probabl right about vf4 its I get so frustrated when a newbie beats me at a game we ease and when I have been practing on for about 2 weeks before hand grrrrrrrrrrr  :banghead:   feel better now

I agree with Tom Mc, VF4 is a very deep game. I have been playing the Virtua fighter series since VF2 on the Saturn/Arcade. I love the VF series, I also like Tekken and Soul Caliber its just that the Virtua series seems more rewarding. And as far as button mashing goes, name me a fight game that someone could just mash buttons and get the win half the time.
The fullfilment of these types of games is to make the character do what you want. Pull off the killer combo or reversal at just the right moment. That is when it feels good. If you want a game that a button masher can't whip you at a game you "know", then try Knockout Kings. Not Knockout Kings 2002, the first one, they turned the lastest one into a button masher.:mad:
I thoroughly enjoy VF4 as well as other martial arts fight games. One of my favorites from the Playstation One days was Busido Blade and Bushido Blade 2, those were cool (different, but cool). I haven't tried Kengo: Master of Bushido yet though.
So many games, so little money. :P
