having probs with my viper gts set up. i have fully customised it, full weight reduction, medium racing tyres, but it just keeps sliding and bottoms out at top speed.

How about helping us out by telling us what you've done to it, what you're trying to change, etc. ?

aww, and I went and created a new thread just for you gtsr, to think I could have gotten a "thx" just for doing your search for you instead, heck maybe I should stop trying to get good at tuning and just start running peoples searches for them instead... :dunce:

hi white salmon the settings i got were for the srt10 tried them out, brilliant. I presume the settings from you are for the gts99, i will try them shortly, thank you very much. :)

Good to hear you've gotten what you need.

One rule of thumb I use is to increase the spring rate by a little more than the amount you reduce the ride height. So if you reduce the ride height by 10%, increase the spring rate by 10%-15% to compensate. If you increase the downforce you also need to increase the spring rate to avoid having the aerdynamics push the car down onto the track at high speed.

Good luck and welcome to GTPlanet!

Try that out, and use the tranny trick to set your transmission so it will hit the redline at the end of the longest straight of the track.

Try it out, and see if you like it.

I tried that tranny trick but I have noticed that vipers have more power on the low end of the power band. I test my cars out on the max speed challenge. 1st no down force to get the absolute fastest speed then with full down force so I can find the terminal vleocity. What I do is slide the final gear to allow for more speed, I do this 1st to see how wide I can go before I can get no more speed. On super torque cars you get more power from the lower RPMs, my Oreca could do 239.65 mph no down force and 214 with full. Next I go to orginal tracks trial mountain to optimize my suspension. Finally I take the final product to the ring for the final shake down. Again I slide the final ratio to get the maximum speed on the back straight. I have noticed I get the most speed nowheres near readline. It sounds like my car is going slow due to the lower roar but when you are breaking 200mph you know you are flying.
