Its back, yay!

Apologies to anyone in the same race as me, I do try my hardest to race clean but I also try to race hard.

I love this track, its perfect for a lazy Sunday, bumps and all. :)

Finally 24h Nurb, my favorite track. However with the wonky matchmaking I haven't been able to finish one race yet. I haven't qualified either, not used to these cars on this track. I raced it with LeMans cars for over a year with GT5/GT6. I don't really want to be in front anyway with the way people muscle through in bad parts. I did have some fun chases with people in the back. They are a lot cleaner than the faster ones that spin out and try to get back in it again.

24hr was awesome today.
Several races, no wins, but they all felt good for different reasons... but 1.
Lap 1, turn 2, through the "fence", (qualified 2, but gave up a spot or 2 in turn 1) I thought the leaders saw me, thought I had room... nope... one of the leaders cut it tight, and, honestly, I should not have been there, got door slammed, or, punched my nose in... depending on whose shoes you are wearing...
Backed the entire field up... I mean... Everyone... what a mess... got running in 19th, worked my way back up (cleanly) to 15th...
Sorry all.
Otherwise all great races... maybe 6/7 today.

Online name = huddybob... sorry to those I wrecked/or ruined your chances in that one turn.

To ploblem as always,

Let faster players just pass......

Had some fun races but taken out of the track a view times so had to fight back and there goes the S rating haha

But still had some awsome races! Won 1 3 top 4 and 1 15th that was a bad one i was a nice brake for some people there! ;)

YES! Nurburgring 24h, Suzuka and Brands GP are my favourite Online tracks as 1 mistake = multiple places lost (more often than not) :boggled:

Did anyone else wake up yday, log on and do a mini fist pump when seeing N24h was race C? 2 laps!
After being “S” rating 8 days ago it all went downhill in last week’s Nurburgring GP layout. 3 hard braking zones in a lap on GT Sport = Carnage :banghead: what a ‘mare!

Yesterday was all about trying to repair that damage: stay clean and get my SR rating back up to nearer “S” than “C” because oh my, haven’t we seen it all at “C”? No we haven’t! Try it in “D” you’ll barely finish a race 👎

Anyhoo, early doors yday managed to get a half decent qualy in of 8:29.
Started 4 races in a row either on pole or 2nd and got punted off EVERY SINGLE TIME at T1/T2 on Lap #1:censored: , which made it rather difficult to pursue my strategy of gettig out of the “Crashers” sorry “C” SR rating :D

It’s a nightmare turn that T1 eh?. You have to be on the money on braking point and at turn in or you will be coming across traffic into T2 and get side swiped (as happened to me several times) . After 4 races in a row of starting on the front row then ending up like....10th by the time I got to T3, I managed a few top 3’s (racing in C, C) then noticed when I got my SR to “B” the behaviour generally improved (hurrah). It was fun racing back through the pack and is there rarely a sweeter sense of karma in GTS than closing in on the tool who crashed you off early in the race, closing him/her down from 10 secs to 8 to 5 to 3 to 1 and watch them run wide on one of the many kerbs and sail past for a win? :D

Here’s to more N24h, Brands GP, Mt Panorama and Suzuka being 10 lap Race C specials

And er, oh yeah. Joined GT planet like....9 years ago and ths is my first post:)

nice first post.
I qualified with an 8:25.1... which put me up front with the Dr.S and A guys... out of 6/7 races, we all got through T1 and T2 clean, except for the one time I screwed it up... Anyways, finished every race with a blue S, and went from Dr.B with bar at about 30% to Dr.B with bar at about 80%.
Out of all those races, only once did the guys with qualifying time of 8.0x not start... thought, wow, maybe a chance of a win... Only to take a little too much curb early on, spin, and go back to last. Grr, salvaged a 10th on that one...
So, on the day I had - 4th, 4th, 3th(by .02sec, and he was coming hard and was wayyy faster than I), 15th, 10th, 2nd.

I managed to get 14 races in on the Nurb, never qualified as not enough time between races. Too much fun racing to skip one.

It was never entirely clean yet I managed to get all blue ratings anyway. (SR down for getting hit from behind while stuck behind someone, what is the penalty system smoking) I settled on the Corvette as suiting my driving style the best. My best result was from 18th to 5th. I only pass where it's possible yet most of the times people spin themselves out or overtake in the wrong place and take out someone with them.

Overall my DR rating only went down a tiny bit from starting last every time and never getting to finish a race. All 14 times it matched me with DR.S or very fast DR.A drivers at pole. Most races only the top 3 made it in before the timer was up, so much for matchmaking... It didn't matter as I had many fun chases with good drivers.

The big negative, now I know Nurb can turn up in the daily races I lost most interest in the other daily races. When will it be on again!

8.0x is an insanely fast time. Meant to download some replay laps to watch how someone is doing that and get some tips. I felt 8:29 respectable after 2 laps of qually and my best lap probably a low 8:20 if I took max risk and didn’t crash (highly unlikely over an 8 minite lap
Well done on 8:25 that’s a great lap!

Oddly enough, I gained 4000points yesterday! Typically gain in the 100's... yesterday was a big day for my Dr. ... Man, I'm going to pay for it tho. I'm going to get killed over the next few weeks as I go backwards to where I truly belong :). I have no business racing with S and A drivers, and it showed on the GP portion of the track, once we got into the twisty stuff I could hold my own... err, not get dropped too bad.

I will try and upload/share mine tonight, not that you want to watch me, but skip to drivers NzNzNzNz... and ORMA_Snow... for the 8.0x guys.
8.25 was a good lap for me, forgot what my race laps were... but they were not 8:25's that's for sure... slower, more careful, ensuring to not leave the track.

That's the difference between starting at the top and the bottom. My average finish position was 9th, getting better as I settled on one car instead of trying a different one each race. In the end I was consistently gaining 12 places per race making up a bit of what I had initially lost in DR. It was down to about 25%, back to 41% after the dust settled (down from 48 on Saturday)
Mon Dec 18 2017 07:38:40 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:18251 | SR:99/99 | Races:489 | DPUR:41

I know what you mean about paying for it. Last weekend I had a great day on Suzuka with 9 wins, then did pretty good in the kart races as well the next day and was all the way up to 82%
Mon Dec 11 2017 21:24:41 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) -> DR:26471 | SR:99/99 | Races:443 | DPUR:82

I've been starting right at the back all week after qualifying, out of my league, dodging cars. (Interlagos was a nightmare) I wish DR was recorded per track to limit these up and down swings. Of course we need a lot more SR.S drivers first as even at 20% into DR.B I still had people at pole with 8.10 qualifying times, with a spread of over a minute. I also had the same 8.06 DR.S driver over and over.

My best 'lap' was in the 8:50's yet that was an opening lap starting last, I never got to see a real lap lol. Closest I came to the finish was about 2 seconds from the finish line. I forgot to look at my time then it was gone when the timer ran out :( I might have finished in the race where I got to 4th yet then I got punted back to 10th when 4th place forgot to brake. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he 'forgot'

Most accidents were from people not looking further than the car in front of them. Adjust your breaking point behind a group, the car in front of you can't go through the car in front of them! Plus there was always somebody already pushed aside in the corner before the start line as starting last starts you before the final chicane. Then corner one the usual 'let's all dive in and see what happens'. Since I was usually last or close to I had the luxury to hang back and start my race after the first chicane.

Most of the times I had to overtake on the grass as people don't give you any room except at the final straight. Oh well as long as I don't touch anyone and keep in control I consider it a good pass. It was definitely a good challenge driving behind people that cannot stick to a line and are on the edge of losing control all the time. Fast corner exits don't help when the car in front swerves back and forth after each corner. That driving style never lasts long anyway. If I had a buck for every time someone barged past me in a bad spot only to wipe out again two corner later etc...

I qualified in 12th with 8:22.
Didn’t even bother racing again. I think I should have tried again, as there are people saying they got pole with 8:25.

How do I keep seeing people quoting their DR and SR in numbers yet I only see a numberless bar when I look at my stats.
I've clearly missed something?

Some people don't do qualification and just barge there way through the slower cars
On Nords, that's risky with little room to overtake, either you do it right and gain some DR from several overtakes and finishing many spots higher than you started, or you mess it up a few times and lose some SR.
