Can anyone recommend a non-turbo car to race at Laguna Seca in the Tuned NA Car No. 1 Cup?

I am frustrated as hell with this track. :banghead:
It took me for ever to win the friggin' muscle car championship on this, and I was running the Ford GT40.:embarrassed:
I have tried with a number of cars including the GT40 and keep getting my tail handed to me.
The GT40 is great in the straight aways but not in tight corners:odd: . Only at Laguna Seca. It handles well everywhere else I race it. When I get to the corkscrew and the final turn, I lose it on both:irked:. ANd I've tried everything except getting out and pushing the car thru.

All the cars that have beaten me are FF cars. I mean I was beat by a Spoon Civic (which I have in my garage). I can seem to tune this or any of the cars that have beaten me so that I can use them. My highest placement is 2nd (with the GT 40, of course losing it on the last turn.)

I'd appreciate anyone's advice on what the best NA tuned car is the best to handle this track.

Thank you :irked:

Hey, now before you laugh, hear me out. go buy a dodge neon ACR and deck the heck out of it and try that on the track that ales you. OR win a spoon integra, finish modifing it then use that. There both good in corners, decent on straights and if they dont work for you like they did for me. write back and i'll help some more...

if you want to race them with no chance to loose... go buy a

Alfa Romeo 155 Touring
Honda NSX
Dodge Viper
Chevrolet Corvette

all of those can beat them without a problem...

Hey wiz. By muscle car champioship i assume you mean muscle car race, but besides that, I'm afraid that if you are unable to win that race with a GT40, then there aint no car that will do a magic trick for you and make you win. Most people can win that muscle car race in sub 200hp cars, so a GT40 should be no problem.

As for the tuned NA race, i cant remember if it is free entry or not, but the Ford should be more then adequate, and if there is a hp limit, try the Toms T111

Any TVR, Corvette (I love that 82 Stingray, and the 69 too)...or a RUF. If these don't do the trick...never try to drive anything else than the milk man van ;) .

Whatever you do, do not sell that GT40!

I would also think that you would be able to win easily using a GT40. Cars less powerful than the GT40 and can win the Muscle Car races.

I completley forgot that. On that note I recommend you stay away from Rear-Drive Power Beasts and stick to Front Engine Front Drive Configurations. They have less tendency to spin around on you. (unless you suck at racing).

I've got 1 thing to say. WTF is wrong with u? GT40 is prolly one of the most forgiving MR cars there are! Good speed and handling! Unless u take a turn and press full throttle EVEN THO UR ALMOST SPINNIN OUT. Learn to drive muscle-car style. Break and take the turn from outside to inside of track. Take smoothest line possible. Tap the accel. rapidly wen in trouble. But man, u let those rice rockets beat ur flippin GT40?!?@!$?$

Im sorry, my temper flared wen u said a GT40 is bad at handling. Anyways, one more thing. The brake is ur frend, use it! I used to take the corkscrew full speed. Guess wat happened?

Ok Listen to these guys. Love those brakes, but cheat on them with the accelerator every now and then during a turn(lol). If Ford isnt your thing then try something GM, If General Motors dosn't like you either then Mopar had better. DON'T BE AFRAID OF A FULLY TUNED VIPER R/T.

Yup. With the ability to change all settings in fully mod, you can tame even the viper into a massive understeering machine. Just the right settings, all you need.

look, wizardraz, i just think you need practice. If you cant win in a gt40 ( one of the finest all round cars in the game), then no amount of tuning to any car will save you. I also personally question the wisedom of suggesting a Viper if Raz cant cut the mustard in a far tamer car to handle. Clearly the boy doesnt have the knowhow (yet) to tune cars, and the Viper can be one wild ride if not done correctly.

Raz, as i said before, practice, practice, practice;)

Yeah I guess your right, When I got my first Viper it spank my ass hard and told me to get out. but after teasing her alittle, we started to get along.

I want to thank everyone for their advice.👍
I am going to put the advice to good use.

Practice I will. :D
I will learn that the brake is my friend. :D
I will try the other cars (unfortunately I can't use my favorite RUF CTR on this race because it comes turbo from the get go)👍

My problem is Laguna Seca and only Laguna Seca in particular with the NA Tuned race. I have won all othr races I have run with the GT40. It does handle great everywhere but on that track.

But I will conquer Laguna Seca or I'll blow it up.

I am suffering the same problems at all 3 NA tracks. nearly all my cars are turbos and any NA cars i have stand no chance - my best result was 3rd at Grindelwald with my 244hp Sunny VZR Sedan.:irked:

Duz any1 have any good cars for those races that arent MR/FR (RWD cars h8 me, they always spin out! :banghead:)

(i am a junior at only 14years oldBTW)

just won that race (the NA) with a mercury cougar '67 tuned to max, hp to the 450 limit

try to set the limited slip to 1,1,1 (in any car), this will make it so that if you flour the X button in a turn, it dosn't make any dfrns.

if that dosn't work buy the opel calibra (the 4WD special model).

He's right; a tuned Neon will swamp all those NA cars, even the 306 "Rally Car" that shows up sometimes. Even an NA-tuned '93 Civic Si will make mincemeat of them. Pretty much anything with 220-280hp and 1800-2500 lbs will do the trick. Easy winning.

Of course, a Calibra Touring Car will pay for itself after 10 NA No.1 wins!
