one feature that nascar heat 4 has that i do not remember seeing anywhere else is the ability to adjust the a.i. with sliders besides how good they are compared to you .
you can adjust the density , how close the a.i. run to each other . and you can also adjust with sliders how stable the a.i. is , how easily you can get them loose by touching them .

I've only had the game for about an hour and thus far I'm impressed (The last NASCAR game I played was 2011). Granted I do think the game is lacking some fairly common features that other racing games have (livery editor, solo practice & custom championships), but considering the size of the studio I'm fine with them working on getting the fundamentals right before adding other bells & whistles. I can see myself spending lots of time with this game!
On a side note, do the AI cars use alternate schemes? Steam doesn't have the gold edition so I just got the standard version and would like to know before I fork over $30.

I HATE the Xtreme Series. My car is always just a tad slower on the straights, and as soon and we go into the corner I'm just pinball all around and eventually into the wall. I'm just simulating all the races now until I'm done.

Hi guys, i just tried the demo of nascar heat 3 and i love the racing in traffic and a.i. at full speed. It seems heat 4 is quite better. Anyone know if there will be a demo soon? Maybe @Novalee you have info on it? Not much chat on this here, is there a thread for nascar heat?
Edit: i noticed a dip in smoothness when switching on the mirror in hood and 3rd person view and when in cockpit view in the demo of heat 3. It's enough to make me turn it off often even if so usefull of course. I'm wondering if they improved this in heat 4?
Edit 2: tried heat 3 demo with my wheel and i love it too. Most fun as i can remember i had in a racing game. Not so easy to maneuver in trafficc and near the wall lol. Losing it a little if maneuver a bit too sharply and then touch another car or wall. Love it really. I was trying daytona in hood view. Even the sound is not so bad. Tha a.i. really fun to race, they move around but smoothly, race each other and avoid you pretty well. ..Better than me.

Just noticed now that nh5 is out, nh4 is down to 27cad on psn at regular price, same as nh3, pretty good price, like a permanent discount.
I might decide to take nh4, as I've seen nh5 reviews being pretty low. Still need check on it more..

I have NH4 on steam and it is almost exactly the same as 5. The developers even said it would be very similar before release. They just got NH5 out as pretty much a livery update with very few differences. Pretty much a cashgrab because the next game is going to take a while to make because they are using a completely new engine.
So yeah going for 4 if you can find it cheap is probably a good idea. I got a key for it on steam for about £2.00 Im sure you could get it cheaper on PSN than $27CAD

I should read some nh5 reviews, not sure what are the low scores about, since 4 looks pretty good and a big improvement on nh3 in many ways, and i like 3 alot.
I was wondering if they changed some things for the worse in 5 or just didn't built much on top of it, and that be the reason for low scoring it..
Did watch a gameplay again of 4 and it seemed nice enough. Going to check 5..

5 hasn't been very well received because it is pretty much an exact copy and paste of 4. The devs even warned before release it was very similar.
Most of the user reviews say the same thing.

Should have bought nh4 i think instead of wrc8 recently, was same price almost. Liked it at 1st but then i went back to dr2 and it's so much better as a serious sim, plus as a professionally made product.
At least nh4 is different racing that i don't have, except for an older game back on x360. And i enjoyed nh3 demo on ps4 alot.

7 days free PS Now available and Heat 4 is downloaded. Pretty good. No SIM but realistic enough to satisfy most players.

Get the game if you want it bad enough. Look at it like how many hours you will play it versus how much your time is worth to you in currency.
I had NH3, the time I have spent on NH5, I’d say get 4 if you really liked 3.
If NH5 is a reskin then 4 has to be a lot better than 3.

Yes sir. I like it a lot more than NH3.
The sounds, graphics, & physics are better(still arcadish). IMO
Some say NH5 is NH4 with new car liveries and the few extra things like free practice.

There's an Xbox free play weekend for NH5 going on right now.
While I'm getting some laughs out of the huge crashes in multiplayer, I cannot imagine paying for this title. The driving physics, controls, and collision system are some of the worst I've played in a long long time. Maybe on a wheel it's a little nicer to control, but that would still leave the physics and collisions being trash.
I mainly had high hopes for the dirt racing, but it suffers from the awful controls and physics even more than the paved ovals, and as hungry as I am for some dirt oval racing I just cannot stomach it.

Nh4 is on sale at 9$cad,pretty sure to get it at that price. I like the nh3 demo and looks like a good improvement for sound especially.
Edit: did try it out just a little now, wow the sound is a pretty big bump from 3. When in 3rd person and turning the cam looking back from the front it sounds amazing with the mustang monster series car.
Looks nicer too, cleaner smoother.
I can see the controls are more complete on throttle brake, not restricted as in 3.
Only did a little practice for now with pad.
Curious to see the ai and traffic race feel, and replays. The sound must be pretty nice on replays now too.
I dont hear the spotter in races, i set it on headphones same as all the game sounds.
Any idea why? @dlshearon ?
