Nascar Tune

Hi,

Newby to the website.

I've tried to search all 15 pages of the tuning forum and have found some tunes for the Nascar.

My question is;

Which is the best Nascar to purchase and is there a general tune for each track as opposed to just Daytona?

Some tunes I found (whilst appreciate people's time and effort to post) I can't set the gears the way they are posted here.

Any help or direction would be good!

Thanks

any nascar is fine the 2013 is what i like maybe because they are new but my 2010 cars seem to be a little faster with the same tune.
suspension goes like this
RH 60-60
SR 24.00-21.00
DC 1-1
DE 1-1
ARB 7-6
cam 0.0-0.0
toe -.25 and -.25 you need a lot of negative toe to hold the low line

I haven't been playing much lately so I'm not sure if they have added a reset button for the different tuning options. I usually start tuning a tranny by resetting to default.

Give my "basic" tranny tune a try. I'm pretty sure I didn't do any tranny tricks that messes with the numbers. If you're not getting the same numbers I posted I don't think I could describe how to get them back to normal. It's more of a trial and error adjustment with either a max or minimum final and a one bump up or down of the top speed. It's either called "flipping the tranny" or the tranny trick. I can't remember the propper name.

I have a basic 3 speed tranny (you need to run a manual tranny) to share. I ran a 44.107 with this tranny. I only tested in test drive with grip on low and real and there was no tire wear. Grip didn't make a difference in my lap times. My car did 206 on the straights and held 196-198 in the turns. I used the 2010 A.J. Allmendinger car.

Set top speed to 261
Final 3.000 (default)
4th 1.050
3rd 1.150 (almost all the way to the left)
2nd 1.521 (all the way to the left)
1st 2.715

Notes: 1st may need tweaked a little for standing starts. 3rd may need tweaked a hair but it should be pretty good. 4th needs tweaked for draft speeds. It probably needs to go higher.

Me too, I cant set 2.929

I couldn't get his numbers to work also. I did see this in the other thread where he posted his tune and I was able to make it work following her method.

You can make your transmission settings easier by starting with a final gear of 2.980 and then moving you Top a Speed to 186, 1rst,2nd, 3rd all pretty much end up to the left and 4rth full right. Finish with moving the final gear.

OK I have won daytona, willow springs and now i cant win high speed ring with that setup, whats wrong please? My car is too slow on straights.

Make sure you return your power is 892, willow and HSR can be 100%. The ovals are the only ones that have to be 70%.

Thanks everyone for the follow-up's!

One more thing I would like to ask is if any of you have the suspension, body (downforce) and lsd tune?

I will try the setups later.

Thanks once again

You tranny tune is good but is it normal for all the A1's to catch up and spin my car around?

Good tranny tune regardless!

Glad you liked the tune :). I really should update it as I'm sure I tweaked the individual gear numbers a little bit.

I haven't played the nascar races yet in GT6. In GT5 I do remember the need to be very cautious around the AI drivers. Keep your eyes open and if you even remotely think you will come in contact lift off the throttle immediately. If they make contact or you drift into the AI and you're running wide open you will spin. It's better to lift than spin out. The idea is to put yourself into a position to win at the end. I hope that makes sense.

I always seems to get bumped off the track on Lap 5 at Dayton lol.

Anyone that can provide me with the suspension, lsd, downforce etc. settings to match the tranny tunes above?

C'mon!!! ;)
