Alright, ever since GT3 (when I first started playing Gran Turismo) I've been using the right analogue stick for acceleration and breaking. However, Now with this PSP version I'm finding it very hard to control FR and MR cars without ASM (which I hate using) due to the non-analogue functionality of the PSPs face buttons.. In almost every corner I end up losing the rear end.

I usually let off the power or tap the gas button going round the corner but I feel like im going to slow, and the AI cars tend to catch up easily. This is frustrating so if anyone has any tips on the handling of these cars it would be great because I am usually reverting to using AWD or FF cars.

I'm finding the same problem. With GT3 and GT4 I was using both analog sticks to adjust things dynamically. When GT5P came along, I got the G25 force feedback and pedals. I'm trying to figure out now how to adjust properly, but it looks like what we're going to have to end up doing is the good ol' tap technique al la GT and GT2.

I think it's really unfortunate, because it's hard to tell how close the physics really are to true life, because you're locking up your brakes and over compensating for it in every corner. It makes it hard to run the game with all assists off and in professional mode, much like I do with my wheel and pedals in GT5P

The only advice I can really give is "re-learn" your controls. Start with all the assists on and turn them off slowly and retrain yourself. It's how I'm going with it, and it seems to help, but we'll never get away from either "full gas" or "full brake"

From what I understand, even with a wheel attached or a DualShock3, you still are all or nothing :(

Apex later. That way you wouldn't need to be at full lock when you get back on the gas, lessening the risk of fishtailing. Also make sure you fit your car with R3 tyres and stiffen the suspension along with other things to help you get more traction.

If you have a PSPGO use a dualshock controller for a bit. The steering is so easy that you can adjust and refine your gas and brake technique til you are used to it. Then go back to on board controls.

Can you set your analog nub to be your acceleration and brake and use the O button and Square button as steering?

That would totally boggle my mind.

I played GT1/2 for 6 years (3 of those with the d-pad), so the PSP's controls fit me straight away. I do miss proper analog controls though.

Hi Tom, I tried to run your prints but the image quality wasn't good enough. Your nefarious deeds will remain anonymous for now.

Loving the humour :D. Thanks for the tips so far guys :)

I'm glad you're loving it. I aim to please and not reporting my off-topic posts. :sly:

That's the idea... you think I'd let you run my real prints and find out my trail? ha!

Back on topic: I don't have a PSP; why am I here?

That option is available for DTM Race Driver 3 Challenge.
The screen rotates 180deg so that the nub is placed at the right thumb.
