Maybe it's due to your car's rating (aka rice out the car to get higher points). I think you might need a magazine or DVD cover and the only way to do that is to increase your car's rating.

this was what I hated about underground 2 especially when you needed a 10 Star Car... My Skyline was literally a speeding carnival float
