So EA recently announced that NFS World *along with some other PC Free To Play games* would be shutting down on July 14. However as stated in the article Star Wars The Old Republic will live on. I'm surprised that for a game that's only been around since 2010, it's already getting its servers killed. Heck I remember that EA never fixed the issues with the in game chat feature and people complained about it. I don't even know if they fixed it yet.

I know some of you might not have enjoyed NFS world and let's hope that this year, Ghost Games could give us something better then World.

World was fine and driving the Gallardo I rented for a day was really cool but since I was stuck with an Audi A1 for most of it it was pretty boring and it was the grindiest most microtransaction piece of crap I had ever played. Great concept ruined by EA's greed.

That is the reason why I said that I know some people might have not enjoyed NFSW.

I'm surprised & sad that they're shutting it down, but at the same time I don't really care.

I've been playing NFSW on and off since 2011. I've missed a year and some months throughout the time since the only reason I've been drawn to the game was just to be able to own the cars. The gameplay wasn't exciting for me as I'd just buy the car, drive it for a minute then log off. As many people know that it's a very grindy and time consuming game (unless microtransactions $$) which kind of upsets me because all of the time I've taken up to afford 1 car will soon be pointless.

I also just earned enough money to get the 996 911 GT2 & the $1.4M BMW M3 GTR which maybe was my most wanted (my puns are wild) car since I started playing NFSW. Won't be able to have them for much longer :(

All I can say is... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"maybe" they're shutting it to concentrate on new NFS projects, i'm expecting new updates about that by EA.
As by far i've never played the game, just saw it on youtube and did not like it; it just felt the same as the others

NFS World got stale fast. I played the Beta, took a break, got back when treasure hunts were introduced and completed those for about a year then haven't been back since.

Performance balancing between cars was so off it was hardly worth purchasing most of the cars in the game for racing and there were so many cheaters in public races. I'm not sad to see it go, it's been dead to me for well over a year.

I regret buying a 911 GT3 and Panamera Turbo on that game. No use crying over 3 year old spilled milk, though.

I played this few years ago and it was a useless game imo. Even with good cars, you still can't win because lots of cheaters.

I know. I finally got enough to rent the Lamborghini Gallardo for a day and that made me want on even more but alas, the only decent way to get cash are pursuits.

I've never see any at all.
Only player I ever bothered playing with was a guy I met who had an Evo IX and a GT-R but wasn't a cheater. Stuck with the game for 3 years to earn both cars properly. I mean, 3 years for 2 mid level cars is absolutely ridiculous.

Its mostly a grind fest and waiting for x car to be in the IGC roster.
It's bull****. Best waiting for NFS 2015. Speaking of which, shouldn't we have gotten some details about that by now?

That wouldn't be the case. Ghost Games are the only ones working on Need for Speed. Criterion are focusing on their extreme sports game after downsizing (80% of them moved to Ghost UK to work on Rivals) and Black Box shut in 2013.

I stopped playing NFSW after they removed police from free roam. My favorite thing to do was to cruise around the combined map using routes that I would make for myself. I would time myself on these routes and I had a rule where if I wasn't already in a pursuit, that I had to hit the next police car I saw. For this reason, Most Wanted and Carbon hold more appeal to me.

The only thing that would've brought me back was the proposed canyon roads being implemented or maybe if that added Tri-City as the southern bridge hinted at. (I was more interested in the canyon roads though.

The only other things I did were single player races and Team Escapes with a friend.

It is a little sad to see the game go, but at the same time I guess for me at least, it doesn't matter as I was more interested in additional races and maps instead of all the Speedboost cars that they kept adding instead. I might play it one more time as I was one of the players that played in the Beta and actually purchased the game before it became free.

I can't say this came as a huge surprise to me personally. This was going to happen sooner or later anyways. NFS World has simply lost its way a while back (around 2013). You can tell that things were starting to decline for the worse. Back when NFS World was in its prime, man, it was great. Meeting all these new people that would eventually end up on your friends list, trying to avoid the cops in free roam, and so much more. Sadly, some things didn't not come to be (canyons) or were plain stupid (overpriced cars).

Goodbye Need For Speed World. Hopefully we see the Need For Speed series itself make a comeback.

I played NFS World since 2012 and stopped playing since last year in July or June (i can't remember), EA promised they are going to fix and update the game but still the chat box was not even fixed, there are tons of hackers in the game and no new news in the game launcher appeared so i got bored and did some treasure hunt and then stopped playing completely.

I loved playing this in the beta all the way until Speedboost was officially introduced. The beta days were probably the only time the game was fun. I'm going to miss this game.

From my experience playing NFSW on my crappy laptop, i've never met any hackers. Assuming hackers didn't start showing up until I stopped playing the game. But I should be glad that I never went through those problems.

Some can say the same for Real Racing 3. Real Racing 2 was where it was at, despite being a paid game.

I played the game for maybe 2 weeks, then played maybe once every 3 months, and stopped around 2 years ago. The game got really old really quick, and if nfs comes out with another game like it, i won't even bother with it.

Yeah real racing 3's pesky freemium system forced a lot of players to hack the game because it was so difficult to save up for a really nice car

Based on these comments, I'm lucky I've never played this game. I was tempted to download it once on an old and slow Dell desktop that ran Windows XP, but I held back.

Hopefully we can see EA make more MMOs in the future.

I played a few times, never enjoyed it. It's strange they are shutting the game down, 'cause I guess it's probaly the game that most has cars in the series.
