I have a huge problem that i need help with! I own a Bmw 135i with 460hp and i usually drift with it, and i can do some good laps but, yesterday i went into a japanese room and there was a guy driving a new subaru sti and he was able to overtake me in corners ( tsukuba circuit ) while we were both drifting! He JUST ROCKED! And i was wondering if anyone can help me choosing a car for drifting ( i supose that he was faster also because he as AWD) Help me please :D

thats not the problem, i can control it very well, its a easy car to start with, and it drifts well but the STI aws able to come out of corners and enter much faster!

i dont knw ;) but i just bought a mazda rx7 spirit R type and it corners much faster ( even stock ) than my Bmw. and it feels like it was created just for drifting :D

My bone stock e46 m3 rips around corners usually 10+ mph faster than most my drift cars.

It could be your lines. Just depends on your setup.

I drift with a 615 hp viper and can keep up with almost everyone, granted I have not been drifting for more than a few days I am a fast learner at things in general and I play all the time. I personally do not like being in rooms with people with AWD vehicles b/c most of the time they just fly into a corner and don't really try to tandem if you are there, they will just smash into you. Not bashing on the good AWD drivers out there but most public rooms are like this. That being said, I feel like its a few factors. 1. The driver is in AWD. 2. He is very well tuned and in sync with his vehicle. 3. If your lines are not bad like you say they are then maybe your tune is off. Ultimately no matter what is said on this forum will make a decision for you. If you want an rx 7 then I believe your mind is already made. They are great cars also, I just prefer the roar of muscle.

I know what you feel, muscle cars with lot of power just rock, and they are fun to drive. i bought my rx7, ( im a quick learner too ) and tuned it and it fells perfect. i can keep up with almost everyone right now! AWD is also fun to drive but sometimes they dont even drift with us, its seems its against us :D
Not everyone is like that though, i ve met many awd drivers that love to tandem! :D
