Hey peeps. During my recent trip to the USA i got myself a DFGT. I absolutely LOVE it, especially the settings on-the-fly feature, but there is a little noise that has been bugging me.
When I'm driving along a course, it seems one type of force feedback effect doesnt work. I tried to open the wheel, and i reckon the weird sound comes from the rumble motor (is it a stepper or an average DC motor?). It sounds like a cog that is spinning with no load, producing a sound similar to a printer, only almost quietly. I think something got loose and was wondering if any modder here has ever disassembled the DFGT.
About warrant claiming, I'm having problems getting the brazilian Logitech to replace it for me (I can't directly contact the warranty claiming department, I can only wait til the customer support people tell them to contact me), so I think I will go down the rough road, because this thing has been annoying me quite a bit.
