as the title says i need help, i bought the wheel today, have been doing normal races perfectly fine, but as soon as i try my hand at drifting all i do is spin out, or halfway through a drift the car jerks the opposite way. all my cars have been tuned to my liking on the ds3, not sure if thats a factor. but its really been bugging me, even after 4.5 hours of practice no luck

4.5 hours isn't nearly enough.. even on a DS3 it probably took you a hell of a lot longer. Just keep putting the hours in and you'll see an improvement...eventually.

if your being spat out mid corner towards your countersteer you dropped off the rev's too much and allowed the rear wheels to grip.

Once your sliding, you've applied enough throttle already, back off *slightly* and if you keep traction in just the right place you won't need very accurate countersteer, as your using a wheel, try and give it *almost* as much counter steer as it wants and be ready to centre the wheel as soon as you start gripping again.

You've only been going 4 hours, get a grip if you'll pardon the pun.

1st. Their right. It took me about 3 months to MASTER the dfgt
2nd. DO NOT USE DS3 TUNES ON WHEELS
3rd. Keep trying and it will all come together.

Looks like your achieving snapback during the corner, like another person explained above.

what should i be doing differently in my car tunes from my ds3 compared to the dfgt?

That is up to you to experiment.

I have a DFGT and it only took me 2-3 days to actually master it, but that may be because I used it a lot on LFS with gruesomely stupid FFB settings. (Was like trying to turn a rusted screw.)

You'll find that if your having snapback you've dropped down the rev's too much, you have to keep in the torque range to stop the rear wheels gaining traction again. Usually 4/5,000 RPM is the lowest point of the torque range. DS3 tunes won't work on a wheel, given the fact you aren't constantly moving from left to right.

If you need help for tuning see here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=177858

Put in the hours and you'll soon be tail-happy. Experimentation is key. Find something with balance.
