Would someone mind uploading a save file that has the Sauber Mercedes C 9 Race Car '89?

I need it to finish the pro events.

Many thanks if you can upload the save file.:)

You can win it from the F1 event.

Besides which, why do you need that specific car? There's loads of cars that can get you through Professional Hall. Unless you're restricting yourself to certain conditions.

I'm racing in the Gran Turismo World Championship.

I'm using the AMG Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Race Car '98 as of now.

But the sauber keeps on beating me down.

I just want the save file so i can trade it for 200K CR so i can race it in the champ.

If you got some tuning suggestions for the AMG please tell me.

Yep. Use R1 front tyres. Use R2 rear tyres. Pit at exactly half race distance whether you need to or not.

The Sauber will cost you full whack (4.5 million, I think) if you buy it off another memory card. If you're really struggling, do the El Capitan enduro for the Minolta 88C-V - that'll kill everything the AI can throw at you. But it's certainly possible in the CLK-GTR - I know, I've done it.

That said Sauber isn't even the bast car you can get. The best choice for that race in your situation is the Toyota 88C-V aka Minolta that you can get by winning the El Capitan endurance. Plenty of potential in that car. But, if you can afford it, the Pescarolo Judd '04 is even better as it's both fast and easy on tyres. The downside is that it costs four and a half million credits.

Too late. :ouch:

I remember the sauber having no price at the german benz showroom.

But I don't really have 4.5 million so I will try the tuning suggestion for the AMG.

Also Greycap thanks for the suggestion but I don't really have the time to do endurance(I might during summer) and I will look up the Pescarolo Judd '04.

I might be able to pull a few strings here and there to buy it.

Yep. Because you can't buy it there. If you try to buy it off someone else's memory card/gamesave you'll be paying the full price of the car. Checking on it, it's 2.975 million, I think.

Sauber is a prize car only, but can be traded for $2,975,000. That makes it a $3.5 million car if it could be bought new.

Asking for a save file isn't technically "help", that's submitting to a loss, or allowing yourself to be beaten up by a challenge. Haven't you learned that the success of a challenge gives satisfying results.

Plus, The AMG is fine, maybe not the best high end performance, but it definitely can outwit the Sauber at Endurances. Try a GT-ONE or Minolta or Even R92CP, those can probably stand a great chance.

Put S1 tyres on your AMG and let B-Spec do it. It'll take 45 minutes. 👍 Unless your trying to avoid B-Spec, of course. :D

Don't you mean R1 tyres?

I will try again with the R1 tyres once I can today(dad is watching the TV right now).

What game completion % are you currently at?

If you can complete some of the Special Conditions, European/Japanese/American Hall or Manufacturer Events to boost your completion to 50%, you'll be awarded the Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car '88 which should make mincemeat of the GTWC Event.

Alternatively you can complete Missions 30 - 34 to win Nissan R89C Race Car '89 another vehicle which should annihilate the GTWC.

Your AMG should be a match for this event, but it depends whether you'd like a challenge, or just want to get through the event for few A-spec points to unlock the Extreme Hall.
Take a look here for AI lineup information for the GTWC event.
The lineups are consistent regardless of what car you enter, after a console reset. Lineup 6 is an excellent challenge, but the hardest lineup available, whereas lineup 10 is the easiest. Bear in mind that the Toyota GT-One and Nissan R390 GT1 are flipped in the PAL / NTSC releases, so it depends where you are in the world. Also the big Group C cars (Sauber, 88C-V, R92CP, etc) all pit during races, whereas later cars (GT-One, Speed 8, 787B, etc) do not.

As has already been suggested, the El Capitan 200 miles Endurance is the place to win the Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89 which'll pulverise GTWC opponents! It's an easy race to win even in an unmodified car, as the list below, showing cars & drivers that've done this for full 200 A-spec points shows:

Other alternatives:

Win Fuji 1000km Endurance to get Nissan R92CP Race Car '92

Win Sarthe I 24hr Endurance to get Audi R8 Race Car '01

Win Sarthe II 24hr Endurance to get Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03 which was my weapon of choice for GTWC, which you can read about here: Another GTWC report. Stock Bentley Speed 8.
This should provide you with useful info on what to expect regarding laptimes, and pit strategies for each of the GTWC races. 👍

Hope this helps and good luck!

THE 88C-V is much better than the sauber/mercedes right out of the box, but give it a turbo upgrade so it has over 1200hp it can beat anything :)

I just got the 88C-V. Boy that race was a nice 3 hour run.

I plan on racing the 88C-V after dinner.

And smallhorses I'm at 37.1% done so far.

I used the AMG Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Race Car '98 to easily defeat the Endurance with a very nice 1031 HP.

The 88C-V is now my most powerful car so far with the all the upgrades and the HP is in the 1100s.

I just like to defeat events very easily.:D

I'd be careful with that sort of mentality. ;)

The GTWC is without a doubt the hardest championship in GT4, and one that it is difficult to "tune" your way out of. The 88C-V with a Stage 4 turbo is an unpredictable beast, since while it's devastatingly quick in a straight line, it has a tendency to spin it's wheels easily which in turn causes it to eat tyres.

That said, a stock 88C-V on R1 tyres, pitting at exactly 1/2 distance in every race versus AI lineup 10, should give you and absolute walk-in-the-park victory even if it isn't the most exciting racing ever. Have fun. 👍

Totally agree with Famine and smallhorses here. The Minolta in stock trim should walk over most cars, just go get an oil change and give yourself 40hp for 50cr.. And to be honest......if you're THAT worried, slap some nitrous on the beast and up your TCS level to stop the wheelspin everywhere. :)

Not all of them.

I recall my 787Bs only having it at 5. In fact, the only time a RWD has it at 7 is when it has low grip out back.

New here. I have been using the GT-ONE and the R92CP to beat most of the levels, those cars are crazy fast. If you have a good feel for the cars you can turn off the TC, it may help as long as you stay out of 1st gear where you spin the wheels the most.

alright i will set the TCS up more.

High TCS levels will sloooooow you down, while they do prevent wheelspin, they kick in at odd times, e.g. at 5500RPM in 5th gear on a straight , and hence prevent you from lapping as quickly as you should if you master the throttle control properly. A TCS setting of 1 or 2 at the most should be optimal for almost everything high powered and RWD. I try to drive without it most of the time, and only tend to use it on the >700HP LM monsters and the Formula GT to assist with rear tyre wear.

Don't listen to anyone suggesting using NOS as an aid to a 1200HP 88C-V in the GTWC. This is what it will do for you: You'll blow by all the other cars on the straight. You'll be going far quicker than you expect, hit full lock on the brakes way too late and slide off at the next bend, into a wall or sandtrap, whereupon the cars you've just passed will pass you back, often making "tosser" gestures as they do! ;) Rinse, repeat. 👎

You could just learn to drive the stock, unmodified version properly and still hand everyone else their arse several times over. 👍

I'm naughty then, I go L5 to L7 on TCS. ASM is different though. ;)

It's not meant to be used as a power booster for those cars....it's to be used as a 'save your butt' tool incase you have already gone off the course into a sandtrap, to minimise time loss. :sly: Pretty much agree with your scenario though, except on Le Sarthe where they join you in the sand trap at the end of the straight if you overshoot it.

True, but where's the fun in that?? :dopey: Let him go crazy. 👍
