need help getting online *plzzzz**

hi im new to the forums but not new to GT1,2,3,4 im not lucky enough to have a ps3 yet =(. well i play GT4 ALOT and i recently thought of hooking my internet cable to the back of the ps2 but i get to a menu that tells me to put port numbers or something like that its like 4 numbers and theres like 4 or 5 rows of the 4 numbers ... i dont know what that is, all i want is to play online. does anyone know what numbers i have to put in or how i can find that out? or how i can just get online like i said im new to the online thing when talking playstation.. all help is GREATLY apreciated thanks in advance!

It's certainly possible to get GT4 online, but it's a massive hassle, nowhere near as simple as plugging it in and putting the right numbers in and, once you get there, possibly not the gaming experience you might be hoping for.

We've got a couple of threads dealing with it - they can be found in our sticky FAQ threads in this forum. You'll need to connect the PS2 to a PC running a programme called XLink. Find out more here and here. Best of luck, but I suspect you may end up lightly disappointed.

Er...sorry. Playing GT4 online is NOT easy. First, because there's not an "online race" mode per se. You need a PC, the X-Link program, and read the FAQs. And understand them.

yea i had posted the same thread in a different place in these forums but i lost it. lol i posted it and never found it again this forum is bigger than im used to.. umm can someone tell me how to get to the downloads page so i can download xlink... i swear you need a map for these forums!! lol
