Need Help on Classics

I'm very much into endurance driving, and I'm trying to get farther in the game but I'm stuck on one track, the Nurburgring 1 lap, in the Classics Championship. Of course I can get past all of the cars easily and win the race, in 2nd. There's a supercharged AC Cobra at the pack w/ 485 hp. Right now I'm using a 1969 corvette stingray, about 540 hp with semi race goodies and soft tires. Of course the vette can be faster but I'm having a hard time with catching up to this Cobra without crashing/spinning out. Should I use another car? Any advice?

Feel free to use both of these to help determine the best choice for you, and how to go about getting it if you do not already have it.

Also keep in mind, as shown in those lists, the AI has 22 different cars that it randomly selects from, so you do not have to use a car to compete with the AC Cobra, or any of the top cars for that matter. You can always reset the field of AI cars by not starting the race, and going back to the race selection menu and start again. Each time you do that you will get a new field of randomly selected AI cars.

My personal favorite car to use in this race is the '64 Ginetta G4. Not only is it a really fun and challenging car to use, and that it is easily won as a prize car so you do not have to buy it, but it also has a true classic exotic body style that fits in nicely with this equally classic historic race. 👍

How would I get it to reset? start the race with a slower car? IS there a number of Aspec points i should be shooting for?

Keep abandoning and restarting the race until you see the Cobra vanish from the line up... Or better yet, go buy a Jaguar classic coupe and max it out with everything you have in store and challenge the Cobra... That is what I did. They become almost equal but the Jag has better road hold and balance so when the Cobra blasts away at the straight frustrating you, it gets erratic at the curves while you hold on tight and get a better chance for a better exit from the same curve, frustrating him all over...

Exactly as I said before:

You do not have to actualy start the race and then abandon it to reset the AI field. All you have to do is go back to the race selection menu. Each time you then select the race, the first menu will show the list and postion of the selected AI cars. If it isn't the field you want, go back to the race selection menu and select that race again.

I finally beat the track after resetting, but I tried the next track and it had the cobra AND a Buick special, which has 556hp. Nice huh? Where does GT4 come up with these cars?

To make the game somewhat challenging. Anyway, go grab a Shelby Cobra, if you have the money. Use it for the Classics, Shelby Cobra Race, 1000 Miles!, etc. Really good car with driving aids on, S1 tires, and a racing transmission.

use the car that is beating you

Not necessarily.

I've used some cars that I was being beat with and I still couldn't beat them.

The best thing to do is to brush up on your driving skills. Power isn't everything - it's the control.

GT4_Rule is right. Just get the feel right for your car on the 'Ring in practice or a family cup, and you should be ok.
