Need Help On Schwarzwalrd League B

Hi Guys - New to the forum (signing up) but been reading for a while.

I'm on the Schwarzwalrd League B race (lvl 20 Bob) and he can't seem to get it done with a SLR McLaren with all HP and weight modifications.

He gets close (keeping him cool the whole race (Ring, haven't tried Nurinburg yet), then trying to pass) but always seems to spin out at a key moment. I don't have any of the stealth cars, and was hoping not to burn a couple of million on a new ride. I'm OK with buying something new, but just don't know what else to get. I would have thought this car has enough power to smoke the other cars, but maybe my strategy is off.

Thanks for any help,
Matt

I used a bone stock Audi Le Mans quattro ‘03(prize car) and won both by quite a large margin with a level 18 Bob.

I also used a mildly tuned TTS Coupe '09 (434bhp) on Cape Ring and won(barely), but he spent most of the race in 3rd, just refusing to pass the leading SLS & M5, so I didn't bother using it for the second race.

I don't remember where I read it in here, but I keep my Bobs running in the middle of cool & hot, and they always seem to respond and race much better that way. I had to coach him a bit on Cape ring as he doesn't seem to like the corner just before it transitions into the inner part of the course and would spin out there, but on Nurburg, I didn't even need to watch him. He flew by everyone within a few turns and had a comfortable 3 second lead for the rest of the race.

Audi R8 5,2 Fsi Quattro did the trick and doesn't cost much either ... used that in both A and B spec and won easily ...

If it's of any help, I did this - yesterday, actually - with the RUF Yellowbird.

A stock CTR2 won this for me. I even forgot to do the oil change first.

I used the audi r8 5.2. I put on some soft tires, rear wing to adjust downforce. removed weight and added the components for drivetrain as well as suspension. Adding power helps but I think weight and downforce makes the biggest difference.

He might be more apt to spinning out in the SLS since it's relatively heavy, and compensates by having more power. Thus, when he hits a curb and takes weight off the rear wheels, all that torque goes up in tire smoke. Either a lighter car with less power (but similar power/weight ratio) or an AWD car such as an Audi. I already had a M3 Coupe E92, fully modded, but suspension, LSD, trans tuning left at default. Bob had no trouble at all. In A-Spec, I used the Audi RS6 Avant. That thing will swallow curbs whole, and not even blink.

pmbumfoi makes a good point for any car. Adding power will make a car quicker, but removing weight has the same effect, while also helping braking and cornering.

And I back up ShaneG's point, that Bobs seem to perform best near the middle of cool and hot. Only if he's miles ahead (or even lapping other cars) do I let him get really cool.

Is he spinning out on the uphill S curve? My bob did this too and like the poster below you I switched to the audi le mans and he won no problem, the nurburgring was no problem for him in the SLR.

to the OP, have you TUNED the car to handle all the HP? I think you should be able to win with it. And what fourliter said, i wouldn't let it sit all the way cool till you are way out front, keep pacin up till its in the middle of the bar and have at it. also try to get out front right away.

Full tuned SLS did the trick for me, Just needed to babysit BOB to the front then he flies off. he was level 17 back then i think.
