Hello everyone. So recently I got a $100 Amazon gift card as a late birthday present and I think I might want to spend it on a capture card. Now I have done a bit of research on what I should get but there are a few requirements I have.
  • Record gameplay with good quality (720p+) on PS3, PS4, Wii, and Wii U
  • Easy to use
  • Idealy I'd want to spend no more than $150
What happened to catch my eye the most was the Elgato Game Capture HD. I did take a look at the latest model that records in 60fps, but to be honest I don't care much about that little feature, and also I have no idea if it supports the PS3 or even the Wii, since it's not mentioned in the product description.

Any tips or pointers are greatly appreciated. :)

I've got the Elgato hd which works fine on ps3 and is easy to set up (google the online instructions though if you get it). There's another similar capture device which seems very good too (sorry, forgotten the name).

All the Gt6 vids on my YouTube channel (see the vid thread in my signature below) were from the Elgato hd and then minor edited in the free window live movie maker.

To be honest I'm only using the Elgato HD for ps3 so far as the share button works so well on ps4 the only thing you lose between Elgato and share button is 1080p vs 720p

Can't see how you could go wrong with Elgato though, especially if you can pick it up cheaper now.

The 60fps version will be better but in my opinion it's not essential to upgrade to it.

I wonder if Elgato Game Capture HD60 will work on PS3.

I saw a video that someone has managed to record a PS3 gameplay with this game capture.
