Need help setting up Audi R8!!!

I need help setting up the Audi R8. The car simply handles awful. The car is very fast, but its almost impossible to keep on the track. It is completely unsteady at high speeds. When you hit the brakes the car pulls hard to the left or right. Your never sure which way its going to go until you hit the brakes. Does anybody have any setup ideas? Spring rate, tcs, etc.. Thanks!

Suspension:
SR 11.2/12.6
RH 83/85
bound 3/4
reboud 6/7
cambers 3.0/2.0
Toe Angle 0/2
Stabilizers 7/7

LSD:

I.T 10
Accel 40
Decel 30

Brake Balance 5/5
TCS 6

aids can be on or off still handles well enough for me either way.

this is all I've done so far and I've 6:30's around the Ring my damn B-spec driver does it in 00:05.43.....stupid sob the car goes way to fast for me and i always screw up somewhere lol.

as for shaking at topspeed if you absolutely need to remedy that if you're on a course like high speed ring set front toe to 1 and it should help also lower the car a bit.

as for braking try braking a lil early and only in straight lines cars have a very high value of momentum at those high speeds and if not braking in a straight line the car will generally slide towards the outside.

hope this helps.

This tune is very agile, but will come off the wall pretty straight; it WILL BRAKE DOWN FROM 200 cleanly and easily does better than 1'02 at Deep Forest on racing hards. The Audi tuned has the rollcage/stiffness enhancement. (It is important to apply these tunes to a similarly enhanced car because the cage changes your inherent oversteer.)

Now with this tranny trick did you get that speed with the settings that are on this post also?

Yes. Honestly, it only flashed up 424 once, normally it got to 420, hit a bump, redlines and dropped to 415 again. The tranny trick is quite simple, want me to post it, or you can pm me.

My B-Spec Bob (5551/68/55/52) got a 3:04.6 on Sarthe II with R2/R1 tires, using stock suspension settings, "Increase Rigidity" option, no ASM, TCS at 8, tranny trick gearset, 2.02 final, and 4/2 brakes. On Lap 74 he got a 3:05.4. The R8 is so good with stock suspension I've never touched the settings.

(In A-Spec I got 260 MPH on the straight.)

Yea you got up to that speed, but with what tires were you useing? And how much life left were they?

I won the last series in professionals in this car, all gold.

Some of the changes i made were:

Gears Set second to last meter wide out to about 4850
Use bottom meter on that screen to adjust speed to longest straight.

LSD
6
58
7

Dampers, I only changed bound, down to seven or up to nine,I cant remember which one is better for hong kong (short course).

Front diving out under brakes is two things, brakes and stabilizers.

Higher stabilizer setting in the front will help reduce the front end diving out. You need to balance this with the fact it may take a little more to get around a corner if you set to high.

Even the brakes up a bit, not too heavy on the front. Then use the gently, don't just jump on them too late. The car handles well through corners so slow a little earlier. The rcps etc may un-nerve you with their shorter braking distance, but you don't need to copy that technioque to beat them, use your own.

You probably dont need to adjust the spring ballance.
lower the car a bit but not all the way.
you can also use automatic driving aids to reduce the understeer problems.
look also at the playstation car, its front is radically lower than its back, does this make it handle better.

:) No B-Spec for me.

Very impressive... MY B-Spec Bob, 5491, 61, 54, 51 did 3'02.164 with matched R2's and the tune I recently posted. I din bother driving there.

Well, I've gotta try your setup, then.

(BTW, I'm almost done with my Le Mans car B-Spec comparison test on Sarth II. I'll try to post it on the main forum, but they'll probably reject it to leave room for all the "What is your favorite..." threads. If so, I'll post it in Write-Ups.)

I cant manage to get the tranny trick to work because the ratios dont go that high when i try to set them. And if I manage to get one gear to set usung auto, then another wont go up that high or low. An example is that I can get 1st and 2nd gear to set but then 3rd wont go that high. I hope someone understands what Im tryin to say, and can help me,

thanx
