Need help with Miata 1.8RS at opera

I am having a little friendly competition with my friend at opera with miatas. He is driving the 1800 and I am driving the 1.8 RS I cant beat him. I have all of the best parts on mine without the LSD and any stiffening. I need some guidance please.

go to shoman Performance. It's not that fast, it will handle. I drive mine hard all of the time. It's on page 5 I think


Edit Sorry computer froze up. RJ he's most likely oversteering in the center of the corner. He's understeering as he enters

Yea that seems to be the problem. It seems like the car should turn in better, but for some reason it doesnt

If you wanted to I can work out a tune for you? and you might want to put a 1-way on that car atleast. Just give me a list of parts to follow. You will want to stiffen up the spring rates alittle bit. and work on the lsd too.

Try out 3 bound, 6 rebound on the front shocks, and 4 bound, 5 rebound on the rears.

Stiffen the rear so it's about the same stiffness as the front.

Should cure both of your issues. (Light front bound throws the weight to the nose, rebound keeps it there, stiffer rear springs prevent the outside rear from getting overloaded mid corner)

Thanks! I'll try this to see what I can do. In the mean time, Shoman, the parts are as follows

Racing exhaust
Racing brakes/brake controller
balancing, port/polish, chip
stage 3 turbo (or the biggest you can buy)
racing tranny, stage 3 clutch, racing flywheel, carbon driveshaft
racing suspension
racing medium tires
stage 3 weight reduction

note, this is the miata RS that you buy from the used car list not the new one. I also put an lsd on to see if that helped any, but it seemed to make the car push more on entry. Thanks for the help guys!

Edit: I would also like to say that with my current crappy tune, I cant come within 2 seconds of my friends time. He is using the 1800 non rs used MX-5 but I doubt that they are that much different. Also if I drive his car, I can beat his time, so it obviously isnt the driver on this one.
 
no, I am using the 98 Mazda MX-5 Miata 1.8 RS, he is using the 00 Mazda MX-5 Miata 1800 RS both are from the 1st used car lot. I want to say that he is getting low to mid 1:22:xx but I am not sure seeing as how the records didnt save on my game for some reason.

Edit: This is a rare car in the cycle. I will try to play the game alot today to find it.

Hey I have some bad news. My file just gave up the ghost. I have to start fresh. I will still do it if I can find the car again. I was almost done with it to lol
 
Time for the Mad Finn Tuners, I think.
Their MX-5 is an '04.
I think it was quite expensive, but it is worth it. But get grippier tyres.
