Lately, a strange issue's been cropping up when I'm using my PC. When booting it up in the morning, it all seems fine, but a few hours later, or even after temporarily powering it down in sleep mode, it starts misbehaving by slowing down to a crawl every five to ten minutes before going back to normal.
I use Windows 10 Home, and as far as I can tell, it's the latest firmware since Windows updater isn't detecting any new update for it.
I tried to check what's causing the slowdowns with the task manager, and usually it's the system app eating up 100% of the HDD, the task manager itself eating up a sizeable chunk of CPU (sometimes as much as 90%) plus various other system-related apps (like SysMain) eating up ram, cpu, and hdd. It's not one thing but a multitude of apps, sometimes even the antivirus, too. So I did one of those deep antivirus scans and that didn't result in any improvement either.
When I'm working on a document, the slowdown isn't as annoying, since it only lasts around thirty seconds or so and is barely noticeable, but when I'm playing a game, it's a huge pain in the neck as the framerate slows down to a crawl. Ditto for viewing Youtube or streaming a movie, music...
I tried to google and didn't get anything even remotely close to what I'm experiencing. Maybe I used wrong or confusing search terms. I dunno.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
