hello today i bought a Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) ’08 and tuned the suspension to perfection, but I'm having trouble with the transmission i don't know how to tune it for drifting. in my opinion it shouldn't hit the rev limiter excessively.
Please Help

I have used the search option but have not found any thing that suits this specific car

I don't want the full tune i just need mostly the explanation on how to tune it for it to be most effective while drifting.

I drift all my cars in 2nd gear for tight s-turns and such, and 3-4th gear in wide turns similar to Suzuki east course all my other drift cars have a sport transmission not fc transmission. (if this helps) I want to go all out with this car.

@takumifuji01 I like that Z34 all nice and clean

I'm not sure if you can adjust your transmission but if you could, then make your transmission short.if you couldn't,then the only transmission that can change your ratios is the fully customizable transmission

Captain obvious here lol, kidding.

OP, you'll find that keeping gears 1 and 2 really short, almost like if they're not there, and make 3rd and up, longer. Also, I set the top speed to 290 and increase the final drive a bit, not much.

You'll find that it's smoother drifting around hairpins in 3rd rather than 2nd, due to not hitting the rev limiter and have more room for wheel spin. I usually do everything in mid range to short range drifts, in 3rd and everything wider I do in 4th-5th. You get more wheel spin and you can drift longer.

All in all, I don't do anything in first and second gear, those are to just get me going.

Thanks I'll try that out tomorrow anybody else have any suggestions just looking for as many tips possible for making the best drift car for my drifting style and skill.

290 km/h or mph because km/h makes more sense but mph is wayyy too high for a drifting tranny.because when you drifting, you want your gears short so you have wheelspin even in a straight line and top speed should be like a 1/4 top speed.i make short trannys for my drift cars.when I making a track car,I set my gear at what kind of track I'm at.

Oh! My bad, if your doing transmission tuning, make sure there not close but also not too far. Play around with the gears and test them out.

290 Kmh, I keep up to second gear short and everything else longer, I don't like shifting mid drift, on a wheel. I use to shorten the top speed to 260 kmh but I found I had to change too much and that I was hitting the rev limiter too much and straighten out.

thanks for the help but for some reason the Z34 isn't for me i posted a new thread please feel free to suggest anything.
