Need Help with SVG Logo

I've been trying to convert some SVG's using Inkscape. One of my biggest problems is with letters. If I'm have a the letter B (black color) the two center parts look
like its white but when I go to the GT Sport Uploader to upload the file it will show the letter B but the two center parts are in white and it should be blank. So how do I get those to be clear and not with the white centers? Any help with this would be great. Thanks

Select the B
Hold down shift and click on both parts you want to be see through
Go to Path > Combine
Go to Object > Fill and stroke
Click on "evenodd" (it's the one that looks like upside down headphones, 2nd from the right.)

Repeat for any other letters.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'll try it out later and let you know if I can get it to work.

Ok I did what you said to do but still when I go to Upload it it show those center in white. I've attached a file so you can see what I'm taking about.

So we're back here, are we?

You didn't do what I said to do as that works. I do it all the time.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you. I new to Inkscape program and I trying to learn how to use it. Does it matter if I'm using a Mac or PC?
I'll try it again and let you know if I can get it to work or not. I just bought a book on using Inkscape so that should help me figure things out. Is there a reason why they put a size limit (15kb) on uploading svg file. I saw some decals when I was searching for logo and there's one of a black panther. It's amazing in detail/color and I can figure out how this person was able to upload it.

No difference in using a Mac or PC except for the CTRL / CMD button. It doesn't get smaller if you use a Mac, or vice versa.

The reason for the small file size is probably due to the sheer number of decals they can host. 15MB is just for one person. Imagine several hundred thousand players. ;)

I covered that one in another thread....

User Decals - A Tutorial On How To Make .SVG (Request in separate thread)

It's probably not so much of a question of figuring out how people do it... it takes time and skill. The answer is getting good as a vector artist... it's a paid job, it should be no surprise it's not easy.

You didn't upset me. It's just that you ask the same things over and over, and in new threads all the time. You were given the process in this thread, and when that didn't work, you basically started a new thread, asking exactly the same question.

You should have re-used this thread, pointing out which part didn't work for you.

I've had a look at your image and it seems it's tricky to select one letter, so here's what you do:

When you've got inkscape and the SVG open, go to file > properties and select "checkerboard background." This enables you to check that see through bits are actually see through, and will enable you to see white bits that aren't see through. So we can see the bits you need to change (the 2 Rs and the 2 As.)

I've started with the R of Racing. Select the "edit paths by nodes option.

UR2.JPG

Click on the black bit of the R. Hold down shift and click on the white bit. You will see that both are now selected.

Go to Path > Combine (No picture as it's straight forward.)

Go to Object > Fill and stroke and the select the "evenodd" option (highlighted below)

UR4.JPG

That may change the colour of your R, so just change it back to black. You can now see that the top of the R is see through.

Repeat for the other letters.

(If you have any further issues with this, reply here.)

I can't believe that this isn't working for me. I've attached a file so you can see my problem with the centers of some letters showing up white instead of being clear/see through.

You can then check my work and see what I did.

Why can't I get those center parts of a letter so be clear/see through. I've tried and tried and I still can't get this right. Here is an example file of what I'm talking about. You can see one of the letter's center is not clear (white/black).

Ok this time I got it to work. I not sure which step I was missing but it worked but the file was just over the limit so I have so adjust it.

Thanks for all of you help and sorry about the other problems. Like I said before I'm new to all of this and even using GTPlanet. When I was posting things I really though that I was replying to the that one person and instead it when out for everybody.

Ok finely I got it to work. Thank you so much for the help and like I said before, I sorry that I keep asking you the same question over & over.
