Hello, I just wanted to discuss what's been going on with me at the minute in a medical problem point of view.

Basically, when I stand up quick, I get dizzey and my vision goes black, and I feel like strain in my chest or somethin hand I get a cold sweat, but tonight was the strongest I've felt it, I'm only 18 so I don't know what it could be?

Today I was out trying to start my motor bike, after running up and down to try bump start it and continuesly kick starting it I felt nackerd and i felt a bit sick on it?

Do you guys think this could be something serious or just due to me being unfit? I do get quite a lot of headaches, but this is starting to annoy me in my life, stopping me from even trying to work out etc.

I know you guys arnt doctors or anything but if you could give me your views and if you's have had the same problem that would be GREAT!

My blood pressure is like 130 over something but the doctor said that was normal and that was before Christmas, so im going in the morningand defo trying to get some insight! It's scaring the life out of me.

Ps I'm defo not over weight I'm 5.7 and skinny, and I eat quite a lot of crap etc chocolate drink loads of fizzy juice diet coke etc.

As I say any help would be great!

Thanks

You should really see a doctor I know you asked for our opinions but if you describe those symptoms to a doctor he should be struck off if he just sends you away again. Also a doctor will be better able to deal with it and make a better judgement than us.

This was the best I could find on the net. Not sure how relevant it is.

Thanks mate, I don't know what it could be, mybe it's due to me resting to much or genrally itcould just be that I eat to much rubbish, I'm hoping it's normal!

You should test your heart rate. If its under 50 BPM then it's because you have a slow heart rate.

When you stand up quickly, gravity pulls some blood from your brain, and it doesn't circulate back until the next beat. This causes a lack of oxygen to the brain and if your heart rate is slow enough this can be felt as dizziness and light-headedness. This is also related to something called postural hypotension. If it only happens every now and again, I wouldn't worry too much, although if it is bothering you a lot, defiantly let your GP check you out.

Also a slow pulse rate is a indication of a strong heart, meaning it can pump more blood with a single pump so it doesn't need to pump as much, although a very slow heart rate can be as dangerous as a very fast one.

In short, goto your GP and have a check up

Thanks mate, yea it's really making my mind go mad thinking and worrying! Do you do thar by counting how many beats your pulse has within 60 seconds?

I mean I breathe normally, I have no chest pain, so I'm praying that it's due to lack off fitness or just normal LOL!

You guys are keeping my mind right!

Well that's what I did twice there now, the first time it was 73 BPM (pulse check) and the second time it was 61BPM,? I'm going to do it again now.

Now in saying all this I use to suffer from bad panic attacks and anxiety, I still be anxious like I was at the 73BPM, and ive been so stressed as the missus had a misscarige so I'm stressed out.

Third time it was 63BPM. Now I'm happy that that's good/average - and anytime doctors or nurses have did it they've said I've a fit pulse rate, now here's the REAL mind boggler.

On a few occasions, my blood pressure would have been like 90/ someting, 80/something. And that was when I drank like an alcoholic and smoked for ireland lol.

I quit smoking and drinking, got a girlfriend, just drink and eat rubbish.

A good lot of months ago my Bpressure was 120/ something, then 130 over something and the doctor said that's fine!, so I'll go see him tommorroe, see if he can refer me to get a final check up, and from tommorrow I will also be cutting out fizzy juice, sweets, crisps, chocolate etc and trying to do more activitys! God I wish I still was a motocross racer, used to be fit as hell! :(

120/80 is normal. The bottom number you really do need, if its under 60 it's too low, over 90 too high.

It could be stress though mate. You wouldn't believe how much stress can do to a person. I always thought it was just a cop out for people to feign illness, but turns out its a pretty serious thing. Being healthy physically is important, but mental and emotional well-being is as important.

Also I'm sorry about you and your partners loss, I can't imagine anything like that. I have a little girl myself, and I couldn't imagine my life without her.

Thank you for you're support, yea I am very stressed, I use to go to a counciler when i was 17 etc, as I used to have bad anxiety, and I always useto think bad things like I was going to die, things wrong with me etc it was that bad! And I got better but now this stress is taking its toll lol, I'm a happy guy but it's the stress in the background that's annoying

Well I'm glad your feeling better about life now. You just have to focus in on how good life is. You obviously have a wife, whom must love you, I don't know if you have any children, but you have a wife and all you have is time. Chill out, relax, and look to the stars, they always chill me out, think about what life is and how special it is.

I love my life, although, I'm in a rubbish job, but I have prospects now. I have an awesome girlfriend and a beautiful 4 year old daughter. Find happiness somewhere and try to be a rock for your wife in this time of hardship, because however ****** your feeling, you can bet she feels a lot worse.

I'm rambling now, but I have just recently found a new zest for life, and am just trying to show you that no matter how bad life gets, if you have the right person next to you, everything will work out.

EDIT: I can't believe how much I have just rambled on, I'm sorry if its over the top! Just trying to cheer you up pal!

How much water do you drink and how often?

If the answer is not much than that could be the problem. I use to have similar issues but through bootcamp all we really had to drink was water. So after getting into the habit of drinking it almost constantly I never get that issue anymore.

Then again, I also had the stress issue for a few months out of the year. I remember I almost blacked out helping my dad put some nails in for an addition on the house. Winter months are the worst, too. But while stress can be a big factor, lots and lots of water is always a good thing for your body as a whole.

See too be completley honest I never drink water! Mybe two pints a week at the very least! I'm drinking water from tommorrow to see if it helps! Its a pain in the butt I almost blacked out earlier it's scary

Sounds like too much sugar, not enough rest or weirdly anaemia which my grandad gets and he's 80 odd so thats extremely unlikely, my bets on not enough rest, thats what was causing me those symptoms.

I am 5' 3", I eat crap, I weigh about 140lbs, do not know what my blood pressure is but it is within normal and I do not suffer the same things as you.

Sounds like low blood pressure by the light headedness when standing up quickly, but all I can say is go see another doctor as it is never a bad idea to get a second opinion.
