Well mate he did help, he replied with an answer to your question, now that might not have answered it well, that was better than ignoring your question.
The kart races are weekly sponsored by SNAIL, those are free to join as well as GTP having a few weekly series as well. SNAIL is one of the biggest ones here, and they sort by division based on skill level so you won't be outclassed. Truth be told, you should change the title as moderators might mistake this as being in the wrong forum. Advertise it as a beginners lobby or something or an instructional guidance lobby.

Just go online and pick a lobby....get the feel for what online racing is all about. I suggest you try to find a lobby with "clean" in the title, so hopefully you will be racing against respectfull drivers and not idiots or lil kids.....Best of luck on your journey!!!

I tried that...sat in a lobby listening to people run they mouths for 20 mins...no racing

I had the same experience with online as you whenever I tried it in GT5. Eventually I discovered Shuffle Racing, but for some inexplicable reason PD have deleted Shuffle from GT6. I then decided that the best way to get a consistently good online experience was to host my own shuffle races and also build up a big enough friends list so that I could host championship or spec car races with friends in the private lounge feature.
You can host your own races and / or join online clubs or leagues etc. To minimise the time spent talking and maximise the time spent racing it is best if people know what cars, cars, pp, tracks etc to use in advance so when they get to the room it's all action. If you are free from 17:00-18:30 GMT on Sunday's you are welcome to join my group - we have run a race meeting every sunday for over a year now.

@corvuslunar You don't really seem to want to host something or search through the different race series we have running here on GTP, so my best suggestion would be pick a class of racing you like and go and find 'Race for Real' lobbies that use those cars. It's usually the only way I find quick, decent racing.
