After seeing this

I was inspired so I'm looking for ideas, Motorsport themed art. I want something easy and cheap to make. I cannot afford many things but I could buy stuff like cans to recycle into it.

Thanks in advance.

I actually have a stash of Coke cans large enough to make lots of them over. I've just never got around to it but it's always my intention to craft something similar with them.

EDIT: I will add that soldiering aluminium cans doesn't work. The steel base/ top will work but for the walls of the can you'd probably need to braze which makes it a bit of a larger project.

Well I hope to see them made soon. :tip:

I had a thought.

Car badges painted like there le mans cars.
Examples.
Toyota- ts020/030
Nissan- signatech/deltawing
Aston- gulf colours
Peugeot- 905/908

I think you get it.

Super glue will, quite effectively, glue anything to anything...probably even glue water to ice cream. :)

I go through about 4 tins of Coke a night because I don't like it in bottles and it helps me to cut out the beer. Got stacks of the things and I often give them to the recycling lady for free because I have no room for them but they soon stack up agian. I'm talking hundreds!

Sounds like you do a lot of Coke .
Would be interesting to see what other cans would work well, obviously the Coke cans work well with the T-bucket.. it being classic Americana, maybe a Fanta BMW 2002 might work (maybe too complex really), has got me thinking though.

I'm actually really going to try making one of these works of art in the coming weeks. Somewhat more motivated now that people think they're cool. 👍

I'm going to try something like an Alfa Tipo race car from the 30's or a Bugatti Type 37 'boat tail' because their shapes are relatively simple yet to me they are some of the most beautiful machines ever created.

How about a Guinness Lotus? I know that they're not strictly from the same country, but the look of the Guinness cans would suit the classic black and gold livery theme that Lotus sports :D

Turning this into a Guinness can model woould be super awesome:

Plus, I'd think that emptying a dozen of Guinness cans with your buddies would be more fun than Cola :D

I'm not legally old enough to drink. Cool idea though.

They're very cool, iv'e seen quite a few VW buses around, though they're usually made of rusty looking tin (can always imagine the peoples hands that made them looking lacerated to 🤬)

The Alfa Tipo or Type 37 would look awesome and the KISS approach would definitely be the one, (the BMW or any closed wheel car for that matter, would be far too ambitious for me... was wishful thinking on my part).

Look forward to see how you get on W3HS. 👍

I like the 'Guinness/JPS Lotus idea as well Luminis, good thinking. 👍

Unless it's oily/greasy.

Except greasy fingers. Works fine on fingers, greasy or not.

This will be my first attempt but I don't expect it to look much like it of course:

Should look good, 👍 it looks as if some of the shape is already there (bonnet cowl).
Do you plan on snipping out the spoke shapes from the base of the cans for the wheels?.. probably quite tricky, but an instantly recognisable feature of the Bugatti.

I'm really just at the stage where I'm playing with a design on my head to see what fits and it'll probably be a really simplified version with just the wheels and coachwork. I doubt I'll manage to create spoke but I could always draw them on!
