Need laptop assistance.

Ok right now I'm not in the budget to purchase a new laptop at the moment, but I do however have friends/family who have modern laptops who can spare me parts. I sadly have a COMPAQ ARMADA M700. I do have a computer for internet but for years I left my two armarda's in the closet, but finally I decide to bring them out.

Things to know: 1st laptop- good condition, it has 0.710 GB, there is nothing on here but a few things, I don't know how much hard drive space it has, I have a usb I can start using for this laptop if space runs out(its a 4 gb usb). 2nd laptop: screen crack, it makes a big black hole in the middle of the screen, other than that factory settings, blank/nothing on it. I was thinking of selling the parts of the 2nd laptop.

But my main project was to ask family/friends can I break down their laptops(the ones they don't use anymore) so I can upgrade my Armada

Recycle the second laptop(after you pull the useable parts). That's mercury leaking out of the LCD. Ain't worth fixing with it's age. Though you should check what type of hard drive it uses and upgrade that. Then look into upgrading the memory if possible.

I was upgrading 1st laptop my bad. But ok I will sell the usable parts. How can I add wifi to the 1st laptop?

If you have a USB port then you can buy a USB wifi adapter.

Sounds real nice. I am thinking of building a laptop from the armada base, but that might be costy.
