Ok, i'm not that good of a racer, but I'm not THAT bad... I want to do the Nurb 4 hours, but I want to be in traffic most of the race... A car which would be easy for most of you to beat the race in, would be harder for me, because I'm not THAT good, Do you have any suggestions for a competitive car for me?

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII RS (6-speed version) or the GSR MR Edition (brand new) should do fine. The RS is available in the used car lot from time to time. Give it a mild increase in power and you'd probably be set for the whole race. Just relax a little on the throttle when accelerating out of corners to preserve your front tires. A mistimed pit stop to replace them can cost you the race if you plan on standing shoulder-to-shoulder with your AI opponents. Other options that come to mind are NA2-generation NSX coupes and a Nismo BNR34 R-tune.

For a decent challenge in the Nürburgring 4hr, you could always use the BMW M3 (not the GTR or CSL, just a regular M3) on S1's or S2's. It's got plenty of power, isn't too terribly porky and has a stable FR platform to keep you from losing it over all of the undulating and variable-elevation corners. It's not so overpowered as to destroy the competition, but if you do your part of keeping it sticky-side-down, it should win easily enough for you.

Just a thought...

I like running the 4 hour with the BMW M Coupe though this car suffers from a bit of understeer so any of the cars listed above would be a better choice for you.
You're not likely to be in traffic for most of the race because an NSX or Opel Speedster Turbo will quickly separate themselves from the pack so you'll need something that can keep up with them. If you enter with a car that simply keeps up with the pack, the Speedster can be as much as 30 seconds ahead by the end of the first lap. It also has the advantage of always being on the pole so it starts walking away from the start.
Have fun.👍

I've found that 350hp is where i'm at, with the Evo... Everything else i had a hard time with tire wear, because i'm not easy on my tire's... lol

Cheap easy alternative, and it pulls 7.50's at the ring so right in the traffic, if not a tiny bit infront.

Camaro Z28 '97 - 60000km model = less than 8500cr.
Add the following:
Racing Exhaust
Chip
Twin Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Wing, set DF at 30/30.
Sports Suspension.

Costs less than 25,000 including car purchase price, cheaper than most alternatives and gives decent points depending on the field, plus it's RWD so less wear on the fronts. :)

Thanks for this... I'll actually try that, But just letting anyone further know, Price isent an option, although is for many, I currently have 24million... lol

I have almost double that, HA.

I'd say go for the Camaro too, it is very good for its price. 👍 Although I'd say remove the sports suspension, wing and exhaust from Mafs' list, and replace them with semi-racing suspension. That way it'll look, sound and handle much better! :D:tup:

I'd go for an elise , fully tuned of course :), great handling and accelaration
should blitz the competition if its tuned right ;)

It should blitz it even if it's not properly tuned. The "annoying" car which buggered me was a ASL Garaiya, b-spec-bob beat it by about 2 laps with a stock SLR. I was fairly lazy with the race. But IMO, a Skyline or Evo should be adequate for a good race.

you can always use a Dodge Ram and get 200 A-spec points aswell. Some find it cheating, but i find it using the tools we were given to complete the game.

350HP puts you right on par with most of the AI cars in this event, so you'll not get many A-spec points, and you driving an equivalent car to the AI should murder them round here. I'll second the nomination for an FR car, since the 4WDs and FFs kill tyres in 3 - 4 laps round the Nurb.
It's a great idea to go lineup fishing here too if you don't mind a few enter/exits to find a more exciting level playing field than one with a front runner that takes off into the distance and leaves the rest of the AI behind.

It's entirely possible to win this in many stock cars without any modification apart from oil change & S1 tyres. I'd definitely recommend the Honda S2000 '04 as a possible chariot for an exciting race here in stock form, fitted with S1 tyres I'd imagine you'd be grabbing about 140 - 160 points, depending on lineup. Avoid lineups with NSXs, Elise or ASL. The Opel & Renault seem quick, but have a meltdown on their pit-in lap and lose a tonne of time (About 40s for the Renault!) If you can run something like consistent laps in the 8'10 - 8'20 range you should be fine.

Here's 3 shining examples of how to win this race for good points in stock cars, without overpowering the AI. Enjoy!

200 A-spec Nurburgring 4hrs! (Stock Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero (S15) '99

Nurburgring 4hrs! (Stock Honda S2000 Type-V '01)

Nurburgring 4hrs! (Stock Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II GSR '94)

Hope you manage to find a ride and competition to give you as good a race as I've managed to have 3 times here! :D
Good luck, and why not write a report if you pull off a great win? :) I'd look forward to reading it! ;)

Ummm. No. How will it sound better if you just take off the exhaust for one?? :odd: It sounds a lot better with the racing exhaust than the stockie. The wing + sports suspension is more than enough for it as it just grips the road through the first 4 gears which is where 70% of the track is set up. I came 2nd in a little GT4 comp (under $20k with mods) with this car on another site before I joined GTP. I still have it in my 1st MC garage today. :)

And even with the mods on there, it's choked up top, so removing the exhaust will only choke the top end even more and the flywheel needed to keep it spinning otherwise the stock gearbox and hard breathing holds it back. ;) Add some nitrous for emergency use (spinouts) and you've got a nice 'ring attack car. :)

Because then it'll sound like a Camaro and not like a hoover. Although if I ever wanted a nice sounding hoover, I am asking PD to make it.

Although nice to see it is a podium setup though, I guess the hoover exhaust can stay. :P

Costa Di Amalfi - Easy in Special Conditions. Win/Sell, Win/Sell, Win/Sell. Takes 10 minutes each time, gets you 250k+ after you sell the car and if you do that enough times, you'll get a few million in the bank plus a few spare RSC Rally Raid cars for emergency funds.

And if your too bored to drive, B-Spec El Capitan 200 miles. 250k win plus a 750k Minolta.

George V Paris Normal is even faster, 10k not 5k per race. It's faster and your earn more, do George V Paris instead. about 20% faster than costad-amalfi, trust me, all those straights allow something like an excudo to rip up those roads fast.
