Hey guys,
I've been tuning cars for a while and I have some pretty decent cars, but my suspension tuning is not the greatest and i'm really stumped on this. I know my cars can be atleast .03 seconds faster on route X if my suspension was better. I've read Dr. Slump's guide but it didnt make to sense to me. If you guys can tell me min/med/max/???(doesnt matter)for Spring rates, dampers, Anti-Roll bars, and ride height for high powered and low powered Fr and Awd vehicles, any advice would greatly appreciated by me and other drag racers having problems with this.

Thanks,
Btsniper

If your going over 1/4 mile the rule of thumb is what showtek taught the world.. "face down ass up that's the way we like to...." so that your ride height.. Suspension varies with drivetrain.. 4WD likes both to be the same.. High, medium or low.. You choose.. FR loves to have soft on the back.. That's all I'll help with.. Dampers.. Ehh.. Anti roll bars.. Ehh.. Camber.. Not on drive wheels.. Toe.. Have a play with the negatives with this.

That's not exactly accurate. Each car prefers different ride heights, spring rates on each side, and dampers sometimes actually make a difference. The only definitive thing I've found out is that, 90% of the time, max rear ride height will give better 0-60 and 0-100.

Basics man.. I'm at 8.990 in my acr so I know what ride heights different cars like ;) but if your learning what I said can point you in the right direction.. Curiosity is one of the best ways to learn new techniques

I use the "face down ass up" technique, but why do I see people posting tunes with 20/40 instead of -20/40? im pretty solid with camber & toe (negative on front, positive on back). and by soft springs on back im guessing you mean lower numbers. ex: 13.5/8.5.

ACR tune isn't universal. And yes, your setup is a good base. But, at the same time, they should always check every option because something they think is helping might be what's slowing them down. Nice time.

Running 9.034 with my ACR, i believe the problem is with my suspension.

You guys are missing 'CURIOSITY' that is a massive part to reducing your times.. FR and MR cars will normally work better with higher then normal fronts with jacked up backs..

Ok, well if i'm on tomorrow i'll try to post a time, so is this what i should be aiming for:

RH: med high/ max
SR high/ low
D(C) med/med
D(E) med low/ med low
AR B ???/???

and that is your suspension for FR/MR.. Remember.. That is only basic suspension.. You can alter it anyway you want.. But that will work best :)

Anyways, thanks for your help and quick response you guys, I appreciate it. Im headed to bed for the night.

@stimuluz defqon
I get back to you with my ACR time tomorrow, lets see if I can improve it or not
