Need top speed tune for FGT

My FGT tops out at about 225mph on SS7 track, even though i set the final gear to like 280mph, my downforce is pretty much maxed out for front and back, I have other cars beating me in top speed. I thought the FGT can go faster than 225mph? Can someone help me tune this thing for top speed drag racing?

Well i decreased the downforce on the front and rear by around 10 or so and still tops out at 225mph.

Drop it all the way down. Also, how many RPM are you turning at 225 MPH? If it's significantly lower than the peak horsepower RPM you might actually gain speed by lowering the gearing. After that it's either: a) add more power or b) get another car.

Remember all engines will have their own limit, once gearing, suspension and downforce have been altered.
