Who died and made you lot mods?

You may not like that he hasn't searched through the settings threads before making his own thread, but that does not give any of you the right to be abusive towards him.

I'm doing :banghead: too, but not at the OP...

You may be annoyed with how members reacted, but when in the sticky I have made, there are many tunes for all bar 1 of the cars. I'm sure that if he used the tunes from the other cars as a guide he could quite easily create his own tune.

We put a lot of work into stickies too, but we then don't go off on a rant when folk don't read those stickies. We point them in the right direction and hopefully that'll sort them out for next time.

So let's use this occurrence as a learning step for everyone then. Personally I believe that I have controlled my anger since last time.. But that isn't an excuse.

With all due respect we have been always referring people to the stickies. But it gets tiring when we ALWAYS have to guide them to the stickies. What's the point of Stickies if people Don't even notice them?

i think part of the reason they seemed 'abusive' is the fact that the OP was worded in a demanding way. with all due respect. he didnt ask nicely or anything. he just said i need a tune for this this and this and its for 1/4mile.

yes they could've approached this in a nicer way, but he could've made a little more effort himself. it is annoying to waste hard work for someone whose not willing to help themselves properly. (he may want to get faster but he doesnt sound willing to put in the effort to be faster)

Why won't we just stop even replying to this threads so that the person is wondering why they won't even post in their own thread. I don't even post in here that much but I'm starting to get tried of it too!!!!!

I can understand member's frustrations... especially when you look at a few of brnpena previous posts where pointing him in the right direction didn't seem to work:

I would normally say don't reply or link, but in this case it doesn't seem to work.

I think it's more likely that SlipZtrEm becomes a drag racer :D:tup: but how about adding this to the AUP?

You will not repetitively post requests for information that is already available within forums sticky threads.

this should be in the AUP! Finally the GTPlanet moderators can understand what we are going through! No disrespect intended.

Yes please this would be wonderful! I personally get annoyed when people post more than two threads after being pointed in the correct direction and told to look there for a bit of help. Also when the member just asks for tuned without trying or giving an explination of how he tried and asking for advice i feel as though he dosent deserve it.

Some people do, though it's hard to count them, since for all we know, they found the info they were looking for, right? :P

Like Daan mentioned, plenty of us have created stickies, or devoted a lot of time to something (my paint chip Colour Database was untold hours of work), but there is no way to have a 100% take rate for the stickied threads. They're pinned to the top of the board in hopes that people will read them, but some just can't be bothered on first glance, unfortunately. Responding to them by pointing them right back to them is a good start, though.

Is this where I got this from? I barely play GT5 at all these days, but I doubt I'd ever bother with drag racing with the game still refusing to model torque steer or chassis flex :)

Some members already seem to think the AUP is too restrictive - surely this wouldn't help that.

 You shouldn't give people ideas... can I have the fastest tune for my Enzo please? :D

I demand to speak to these members... I can't believe it ;) Seriously though, you think anybody would object to having something like this added? brnpena101 was pointed to the stickies several times previously so maybe if it was enforceable it would cut down on these threads. Normally when someone asks a question in Q&A (or the main GT5 section) that’s already answered in the stickies, they are directed to it and the thread is closed. Would this not be possible here?

People who don't take the time to read the stickies I'm sure never take the time to read the AUP either. It's a no win situation.

I think they would take notice if they received infractions for continuing to break it though 👍

I think the best we can do is put it in out sigs in hopes of someone noticing
