Nero 9 and DRM...

Before you point the FBI in my direction, here's my plight with Nero.

For all you 2-D fighter fans, and ytmnd'ers as well, I enjoy Mugen and ytmnd very much- to the point of wanting to contribute. Problem is, that when I want to create a cool character or lame page on an obscure fad, I run into playability problems, thanks to Nero.

I like the Nero's Waveditor because it is fairly straightforward for someone like me who is just messing around. It's downfall is that it DRMs even .wav files so I can't use them for anything fun like Mugen. I've got a format converter (no DRM there) and I know the 'burning images' trick- but honestly, its a pain if you're trying to make a 30 sec file once and awhile.

So here is my question- is there a way to stop Nero from DRM'ing freakin .wav files? Should I ditch Waveditor for something better (any suggestions?)?

I used Audacity the last time I needed to splice two sound clips together. The learning curve was a bit steep, but it's free.
