network adaptor & movies

Has anyone downloaded full length movie online to a PS2 and watched it on TV? Apart from a network adaptor one would need a lot of HDD space I guess What is your view on this, will this be the future instead of DVD?

What you're talking about doing isn't possible with just a PS2 and network adaptor. See the above thread for additional details.

However, I have watched a movie (AI) using QCast. It couldn't keep up for some reason, and I was less than dissapointed in its performance.
