Hey guys I've just started drifting for about a month now so I'm a beginner and getting the hang of it, anyone willing to help me out give me a few pointers and drift with me? I'm on ps3 and keen to start getting good and known on the site?????

Posting threads is a bad way of getting known on GTP, get to know some already skilled drifters and make your name that way.

Frag is right mate (as per :P)
Add me if you like though... im good on controller... not the best on wheel so im kind of back at the begginners stage.. i drift with frag so maybe he can save us both! ;-)

hey bro, add me I'll help you out. NVM some people on this site, they're set in their ways and cannot adapt to help someone out. Anyway, Im on most of the day everyday, come drift with a real drifter. You'll be smoking em all in no time.

This seems as good of spot as any to post this.

I am an extreme noob to drifting, only started trying it in GT5 last night. Started to get a feel for it with feathering the gas and all that. Still getting embarassingly low points though (not going to mention just how low).

I got the game and system this past xmas and still use the "stock" controller. Is it easier to learn to drift using this controller or would I be better off waiting till I have the wheel?

My biggest problems with drifting right now is oversteer and hitting the corners too fast and slamming into the wall...or doing both in the same corner.

I've seen drifting vids and noticed the front wheels are usually "twitching" from left to right alot to correct the dirrection of the car throught the turn. Tried this myself. Not as easy as it looked. Could be the controler I use or it might be just a matter of practice, not sure yet.

So far, the few successful drifts I do are low speed, low power cars, and very little throttle. I'll hit the e-brake enough to whip my ass-end out then more or less just ease the car through the turn. Or at least, a portion of the turn. Most of the time I need to do this several times in a single turn. If I feather the gas I tend to over do it and spin out.

Also, I've been reading the FR cars are the best to use. This might be another issue. Last night I was using a FF. I'll try a FR and see what results I get.

Lol cheers for the advertising dude.

But seriously if you want to learn how to do drift I suggest you check out some of the drifting school threads or adding a few well known people on GTP and see if they can help you out.
