New backfire sound?

I don't know about you, but my McLaren MP4-12C makes the exhaust "popping" sound once I downshift. Or should I say, whenever flames come out. This happened before 1.12 by the way. Maybe even before 1.11. I'm not so sure about if it's new of not, I did search and didn't exactly find anything. Last month I recall my McLaren making no exhaust popping sounds. It's still on it's stock exhaust. Any thing weird? I found it new to me and had never heard it before. Tell me if this is new or just old news.

i love this at the zonda R :)

Do you mean back-fire? Back-fires is an explosion in the exhaust/air intake, so it should make a popping sound.

Yes! Backfire! But is this new? I also bought an SRT10 ACr and it does the same popping sound too. I'm aware that the backfire has always existed in GT5, I just never heard it make a sound, until now.

Other cars have always shot flames and made the backfire sound so I'm assuming it may not be new but I haven't really noticed with that car.

I heard it in my camaro ss rm with the stock exhaust still on but not the racing exhaust before 1.11. Pd could have tweaked the sound to make the popping a little louder but I think it's always been there.

^^I have two gt5 games I play on as I have two PS3s. One of them is the most updated 1.12 and the other is original. They both do the same popping sounds.

Depends on the car really, I find the Mercedes SL55 AMG has a good sounding exhaust note as far as cars go in this game, and the backfires sound good; however on other cars they sound awful. It just depends on the cars really.

idk but ever since the last ps3 update, all of a suden noises started poping up in all of my games, * infamous 2 ice giants lasser never made a noise, now it makes a faint freeze effect sound, in gt5 you can hear the engines better, and in kilzone 3 i can hear the shells hit the floor etc* i guess they gave the noise quality a push for thoes new head sets =D

I'm glad you brought that up. But I have also realized that I had turned down the music or BGM or whatever it's called and sometimes even to zero. So who knows. New, or just hidden.

Hey there guys, I'm not one to reignite an old thread just for the heck of it, but I was Googling up the sound changes they had made to the 12C since the initial 2011 model had disappointing exhaust notes. This thread popped up as well.

Sure enough, the 12C isn't all that impressive sounding in FM4 either.

Can anyone tell me if FM5 and Horizon 2 (X1) use the new meatier exhaust notes for the 12C? The 12C in FM4 sounds weak and not-so-exotic even after cam and exhaust upgrades. (I know for a fact FM4 has the first release non-tuned exhaust version of the 12C)

Ahh yes this is most similar but not uniquely unlike the washboard Plessy v. Ferguson (apologize for girth) show where b1 hopped down the balcony after poppin dat loopie and done broked his leg! Gimmie dat meat!

Wow... you completely lost me on that one!

How is all that related to the 12C's exhaust notes??
The Lord of the Rings.

(Seriously, perhaps solving the mystery of how Plessy v. Ferguson is related to the MP4-12C's exhaust sound would provide us with the answer to life itself, but alas, we may never know.)
