Well I finally decided to add a few more ponies under the hood.
If all goes well I should be up around 550 I hope.

I talked to the guy who found the current 454 for my Chevelle and he is going to do a total rebuild for $1,500.00.
This will include getting the block boared, new higher compression pistons, polished crank, cam, lifters, intake, headers, port and polished heads, carb rebuild and a few other things.

I couldn't believe he is going to do it that cheap. He owes me a few favors.

So...The Chevelle will be out of comission for about a month while I ship it across state to get all the work done.

Next year I will be getting it repainted for free except for the cost of the paint. My brother in law is going to do the work. I'm letting him do my wifes car first to see how good he is.

Anyone else doing a rebuild or repaint this summer?

Wow thats a really good deal! You'll have one fast SS when that gets done.

I'm getting the Blazer repainted after I get it fixed. I'm going to put dark blue ghost flames on it. I would love to rebuild the engine to pump out more then 200 ponies.

Aren't there add ons you can put on the Blazer to give it a few more horses without costing too much?

I'd like to see pictures of the Blazer when the paint is done and the accident is fixed.

wife's car paintjob: 900$
chevelle's paintjob: 900$
wife's car going first so he doesn't mess up your chevelle and having her car screwed up by the painter: priceless:lol:

Ya there are some upgrades for the Blazer. I found a throttle body spacer for about 100 bucks and adds a few ponies.

If you want to see picture check out the link in my sig.

My dad got a double of the Carrera RS camshaft 2 days ago. I dunno what was wrong with it, but now it runs sweeter than before. You gotta love old porsches, and you MUST love a 1972 Porsche 911S. YES, my dad has a Carrera RS engine in it, all the 911S's have The carrera RS engine I beleive.

How's the repairs going on your Blazer?

The Chevelle is heading out to Detroit this weekend for the rebuild. I also decided to put a shift kit in it. At least with it gone I will be able to get the garage orginized. That thing takes up a lot of room in a 2 1/2 car garage..

I'm picking up the bumper tomarrow and I'll be putting it on Saturday. So I say there going nicely :D

Damn. Didnt know you had a freakin chevelle. much less one with that hp figure (altough for a 454 it wud be weak... this is said by a dude who has never handled 400 hp... heh...) but, damn, 550 horses are just pretty much. I saw the pics... are those center line wheels? and, have you considered lowering it a little?

Cano

The wheels are Crager SST. I am considering lowering it some when the air shocks come off this summer and the gas shocks go on. Right now it is close to how it came (in height) when it was made. I did raise it just a little to accomodate the 10" wide tires in the rear. I had to make sure the fender wells didn't hit the tires when I hit major bumps. I don't see that as a problem now so I will probably bring it back down to where it is suppose to be.
My Chevelle is a 72 with a 71 engine. The 71s were originally only putting out around 350 h/p. I have done a few things to it already to get it up to the 400+ it's at right now but it's not where I want it yet.

Good, sounds like it won't be long before it's back to it's original state b4 the accident.

Good luck.
