Well at last the latest 007 film is no longer German :D with the previously used :bmw: Z8.

Now the :uk: film has a UK branded car :aston:

:jaguar: is included too  and hel* as there owned by :ford: why not chuck in a: StreetKa (see my past thread) , :volvo:, a GT40, a fairlane too? (whatever that is?)

This film is gonna be great for people like ourselves, hopefully we will see more automotive action than the previous films though? And maybe just maybe they will be in one peice at the end of the film, but then again don't hold your breath?..:bomb:

What's everyone think? Good choices for the new film?

007'S NEW MOTORS
The biggest product placement ever?

After letting 007 nonce about in a BMW for too long, the makers of the Bond films have been enticed back to Aston Martin thanks to some overwhelming enthusiasm from the owners of AM, Ford. Not about to miss one of the best product placement opportunities possible, Ford have piled enormous resources into the film and are about to reveal a hefty marketing strategy to capitalise on their investment.

The new film - Die Another Day - features 007 driving an Aston Martin Vanquish V12 with Halle Berry as Jinx in a coral-colored Limited Edition 007 Ford Thunderbird. The villian, played by Rick Yune will drive a Jaguar XKR.

Ford have managed to squeeze even more of their range into the film with other Ford owned companies having their products featured. These include Range Rover, Volvo S60 and S80, Ford StreetKa, and two classic cars, including the Ford Fairlane and the Ford GT40.

Revlon is also jumping on the marketing bandwagon and has chosen a 2003 Thunderbird as one of two grand prizes in a promotion called "Win the Life of a Bond Girl Sweepstakes". Presumably the winner will get shot at and shagged a lot?

Much of the filming for the film has taken place at Pinewood Studios. A full ice palace was built and much of the stunt work was done here.

P.S All pics in seperate posts because = Void :banghead:

I think it's good that he's back in a UK car. Obviously Ford are looking to get as many of their brands in as possible, which is fair play, since it probably cost them a fair wedge to get the gig.

The many :jaguar:'s..did the film crew get to take one each home :home: when filming finished? :D

I reckon they gave the cars :car: away to pay :2cents: for the promotion?

I almost cried when they cut that BMW in half (seriously) in Tomorrow Never Dies, I think.

Its nice to see him go back to the Aston Martins. Is that a machine gun??

OA

PS: Why did Q have to die!???

It was rather fortuitous timing, because the actor died about three months after the last film came out. My guess is that they knew he was on the way out and decided to kill him off for neatness' sake.

Poor dude, best old age pensioner in acting
Yeah your probably right GG, after all better to have him scripted to leave rather than really go infront of the camera? :rip:

Duo17 do our Bond :007: films go down well in the :USA:?

That green color is just ghastly. I mean bloody awful.

I'm pretty sure that they get number one or two in sales while they're in theaters. I never miss one though :D

Ha! The sad thing is all Aston Martins come in that color. To tell you the truth, I hate green cars and I think that the color green ruins the look of a car (ex: Fast and Furious Lancers, among many others). I don't really feel like ranting about green though. I leave it at that.

Yanks love Bond films. Women the world over want Sean Connery. btw, i saw a trailor on ifilm for the latest film, wow does berre's acting look like crap.

Aston martins come in whatever you want.... They use generally british racing green, where that XKR is a lime green.

Yeah, it seems like they intended to use BR Green, but the painter forgot just how dark it was. This comes off as...well, ugly.

Don't include me in your generalities. :) Honestly, they all stink as far as good filmmaking goes. But some are certainly better than others. At least the ones with Connery were somewhat believeable, as was the acting of Timothy Dalton. I never bought Roger Moore as anything other than some rich guy driving fast cars and shagging a whole lot. As for Remington Steele.... Brosnan's a good actor, but one of many these days who don't bother reading the script before they sign onto any deals. The stuff is abhorrent. One of the most unbelievable characters (and flat out lousy acting in a big-budget film) was Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist. I swear she said "nucular" at least three times....

Hmm...babes and "sliding things"...I thought that's what we had broadband access for. No way would I be caught renting let alone buying tickets for something that perverse. ;)

 I gotta admit it's the cars :car: and women that are my highlights of the film :D And the action scenes are class too
