New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

the support by Polyphony is incredible and it really has made a huge difference. Its amazing how far the game has come.

Yeah, but I have never seen a big company with such a fine reputation as PD releasing such a half assed game as they did with GT5.

Everything they included till now, should have been in that game in the first place.

No matter what, Its great to see that they really trying their best to improve this game for FREE. This is the difference between Kaz`s PD and Turn10, those guys would definitly sue us for all the free updates we got so far!

Its just their choices wich make me face palming... like the DLC paint chips wich can only be used once, their strange car choices (eventhough japan is their smallest market and this game lacks european/american every day/sports/super cars, they released a japanese car pack with 3 nissan gt-rs + one gt-r as a present).

Its just so depressing, atleast for me.

I wonder how GT6 will be like (I will definitly wait one or two weeks before I buy it! just to check if it`s better then GT5). Until then we will have like 15 versions of the R35 GT-R, a R36 GT-R concept, maybe by the time new R36 GT-R, all versions of the GT86 (the scion, the subaru, the european/japanese version), tons of Miatas, several tsukuba endurance races and with a little bit of luck one 599GTO or Aventador, sadly no premium Rufs...

PD for sure will have to try extra hard to convince people that GT6 will be worth buying. I don't think anyone, but the most hardcore fanboys will buy into PD's smoke and mirrors game again. Honestly, if GT6 does come out, I don't see it selling very well at all.

The difference between PD and T10, is that T10 doesn't need to patch their games up. They are feature complete from the start and very well polished.

I'm glad PD is fixing their game, but I would rather not have to wait at all to finally get the game I was promised.

Don`t forget that people here in GTplanet do not speak for the majority of GT5 customers. Alot of (so called) "casual" gamers maybe just bought this game, played it for 1-2 week till they realized that it wasn`t really finished etc.
Come on, is here anyone who thinks that the "base" GT5 we got when this game released will convince people to buy a ps3/4 and GT6 :)

I can think of a few things wrong with the game, plus the fact there has already been 2 patches already and the game is still not right (FM4)

They are working on a new patch and leaderboard wipe as we speak so your statement is not correct at all.

Finally, a MINI with stripes! Somebody better buy 3 units and paint each of them blue, red and white respectively. Italian Job baby! :D

THIS POST REPRESENT WHAT SOME PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN:

When having a new Mini for some is disgusting and useless, for some others it can be the best thing on the world. RESPECT THE DIFFERENT TASTES AND OPINIONS! Is this hard to learn? Some are in love with the 2012 GT-R, some likes Veedubs, and our friend there loves Minis. I didn't liked much the first DLC cars because I use more road cars than RMs, etc... and because of that I'm not out there ranting.

Long live to different minds. They made the world a better place.

This is my oppinion..:

1st: the last time I played GT.. was in PSx.. the First GT.. in 1999.. so..12 years ago..
2nd: the only reason that made me buy my PS3 3 weeks ago..was GT5.. I saw a friend playin' at his home..and I was like.."wow.. what the hell is this? AMAZIN!!"
3rd: just bought today the 1st complete pack DLC (the one with 15 cars, paints, helmets, etc..) and I'm 200% satisfied with the 11€ spent.
4th: sure I'm going to buy the next Dlc.. 4€ for 4 cars.. Good enough for me.. I don't feel like throwing money away.. I have to agree when people say that could be a more "enthusiastic" DLC.. but.. fits for me.

So like it or not.. no one is pointing you a gun assuming that will fire if you don't buy. I just can't understand why people complain so much about a thing that it's not a "must have" to run the game.
Think about this.. Spec 2 is a free update and a "must do" if you want to keep running the game..playing online..etc.. So.. if PD decided to charge for that update.. **** yeah.. let's complain about it!!! Because most of the people were happy playing GT before the whole spec 2 idea appeared..and most of the people would be happy playing without Spec 2 update.

Cheers

This informations about DLC or update are on GT's official website? Because I can't find it in there. (Yeah, yeah... I still hope, that Kaz will be notify a course pack..)

I would. GT5 in it's base version was way more then I had expected. Everything is fine for me and I would be willing to purchasing a new system for it, if it were to be a PS4 game. :)

I will buy the DLC because I actually like the cars in it and for a fair price.

I know alot of people on here are complaining about the price of 4 cars for $4. They then bring up that you get 10 car in Forza for $7. However, you also have to pay $5 a month to trade cars, race online, leaderboards, etc... in Forza. So, in theory, you have to pay $12 a month to have all the content (which was purposely held back for DLC) that Forza has, and to be able to play all areas of the game.

Meanwhile, Sony/PD is releasing DLC every 2 months (cars and track that weren't held back on purpose), and for the complete 1st pack and this current pack is $16 total for a 3 month timeframe, averages just over $5 a month. It cost that much to just play online for Microsoft, not counting extra content. Online is free with Sony, and PD has had great support for an over year old game.

I am not turning this into a Forza vs GT debate, I was just pointing out to everyone that believes the Forza DLC is a better value, that it is not all about the cost of the actual content, I look at the overall cost to play the game with all available content.

Cars available for DLC is also an opinion, so I won't get into that. Many people do actually like driving VW Golfs more than they do the latest supercar. I am one of those people. I do like driving the supercars also, but I get bored with them quickly, and find myself going back to more practical cars. Afterall, the practical cars are what made GT what it is today. Many people want to drive the everyday commuter car, or a car that they might actually have around a track.

Amazing that a legit question gets ignored by the ongoing troll bait fueled fight/argument/senseless debate/discussion.

In the voice of Gordon Ramsey, "SHUT IT DOWN"!

No. You don't pay for the ability to play online in Forza, you pay to play online. Also the content was not held back. Did you know that a Forza 4 car takes 6 months to model? What they have is good management. They are able to have a constant stream of new cars, which are added via DLC. PD however haven't quite got the hang of this yet...

Correct. You dont have to pay for a gold membership on XBL to get DLC. Also, its getting old hearing people say T10 held cars back for DLC. Simply not true. They even have polls as to which cars people want to be put in game.

Anywho....4 cars for 4 bucks is funny. Already got the VW's in FM4, so nothing new for me here. Also, another GTR? Reallllly? I keep hoping I will see something to make me want to try GT5 again, and its still a no-go. I guess Ill try back in another 2 months.

Um, ok, isn't that saying the same thing.

So you are telling me that release day content, and content for the first 2 months were not held back? I won't even go into other problems I have with the way Turn10 does business.

Any word anywhere on what exactly a 125SP kart is? I haven't been able to find a description of it anywhere.

Scirocco?

Oh man. That's like a dream some true for me.

Solid improvements in the update too. I hate the stock wheels on my Nardo(s).

Color me happy with it. Now, c'mon 12/20!

Yeah, management. The difference is that DLC was planned for FM4 from the start. PD / Kaz was on the fence about it, and we eventually twisted his arm (much to the delight of Sony, no doubt); unless it was all just some pantomime.

There has probably been a constant stream of cars being completed at PD, but we have no way of knowing what they are, except for those that get released as DLC, or those that will (eventually) appear in the next game.

@ GTP_FastM3

"Special" maybe?

If it's like previous PD games, SP means "special paint." An example that comes to mind is the Hayabusa Special Paint bike that was in Tourist Trophy.

I think it's just a customized Kart with maybe a new Purple Chrome. (Looks too dark to be one included in the DLC) The exhuast is black, Black wheels and Carbon Fiber trim bits, and it's got a windscreen. I must say, looks quite sexy in that setup.
Hold on... Full view of that picture is 3840x2160... That's the x2 Magnification of photomode... could we be getting that as a location ?

No. You don't pay for Forza's online, you pay for online. You give the impression that Forza has its own online service which you pay separately for.

So you are telling me that release day content, and content for the first 2 months were not held back? I won't even go into other problems I have with the way Turn10 does business.

No. Yes, there may have been content that was ready on the release date. But a game is finalised, and discs are made months before release... You can't just bung a bunch of new cars in at the last minute.

If only :(

The pre-release images were in that resolution, at that location, too. It'd be handy, I certainly think (same with the hangar location for all the tuner cars in the main menu), but I don't see them adding it. Or all the Prologue locations we get to see flashed up in the main menu :(

There is a good two weeks to a month (depending on the scale of the release) before a game is released that the game goes gold.

Yet you have no problems with Polyphony Digital constantly lying and misleading people about their game up until release, and releasing a half-finished game that has needed over a year of patching, possibly even more?

At least Turn-10 was honest and up front months in advance about the DLC. Kaz said just before GT5 was released, that the game was complete as is and that there would be no DLC. Yet here we are, getting DLC every two months, and lackluster DLC at that.

We're getting DLC because people practically begged for it, not because PD "lied".

I also don't think they deliberately lied, yet because their strategy is rather fluid (or continuously changing in all directions), it's hard to trust anything they say sometimes.
I remember Kaz saying there wouldn't be DLC at first (and because he probably didn't intended it then he didn't lie) and when more recently the subject of DLC was talked about he said there weren't going to be new additions (like the completely new VW's for example).
What this means is that anything is possible right now it seems, which ofcourse can't be a bad thing.
Who knows what GT-R 5 (oops, I meant GT5) still has in store, just don't state previous interviews with Kaz as proof anymore.

It seems I have to repeat this every few weeks around here. ;)

You guys must have memory issues, because the reason that GT5 was rushed out the door partly finished is because the entire WORLD threw a fit over it. We DEMANDED that Kaz release what EVER he had, and fix it with patches LATER! Heck, I even gave in about 2010.

Remember?

And now, you guys got what you wanted, and some of you complain about it, and you're blaming who?? :D

Some of you people seriously need a box of clues for Christmas.
