New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

I'm not going to lie, FM4 dlc has made me pretty envious since they announced the Charger SRT8 2012, but as I've said before, something about the GT series has always felt more natural and kept bringing me back.. For me I just can't put my finger on it. If gt5 could bring a better selection of dlc cars like FM4 has, I might not be so envious lol.

The new dlc is actually a good start since I am very excited for the new gtr (yea, yea another GTR, but this one has a bevy of changes since the R35 came to production) and the veedubs. I really would like some more newer supercars though. Some examples are the obvious Aventador, Bugatti SuperSport, Gumpert Apollo, Ariel Atom, Ferrari 599gto, Bentley GT, and SSC Ultimate Aero to name a few. Probably have to hold my breath till GT6 on many of those though.

Yet another thread degenerates to this crap :(

People like what they like, you won't change their mind so don't try to. All it does is kill informative threads, fire up moderators and 🤬 people off. Some of us go into a thread about a GT5 update and DLC to, you know, talk about a GT5 update and DLC. Not hear about how Turn 10 has more employees, or Microsoft has more money or FM4 has different DLC.

I'm going to stop before i insult someone.

Wise words.

After every GT5 update, the threads have a lifespan from nice and informative threads to FM vs GT and massive ranting threads.

This is what most people think nowadays. I don't think it's that good either but I will likely get it to show my support for PD. That is, if I don't get enough cash for my DFGT, and I don't get it for Christmas.

I like to think PD is saving some surprises for GT6. Really, they're not going to release every DLC car for GT5. There has to be expectations and "new" cars for GT6.....but the fact that there hasn't been a supercar (besides Japan's finest lol) in the DLC makes me a little uneasy.

We need muscle cars before supercars. Both would be nice though.

I wonder if you can change the colour of the stripes on the Mini .... Anyone said that yet?
Not many road cars , if any have decals like the Mini does.

Pish. What is Gran Turismo's attitude towarsd the automotive world exactly? We'll ignore most US and European models and always give you a Nissan without fail?

If that isn't diverse enough for you I don't know what is. That is the DLC they gave you the option of buying over 12 months on top of an already complete game.

That is what i've been trying to say for most of this thread now, but most of the GT5 fans won't listen. I have a feeling none of them have actually played Forza 4, so they have no idea what they are missing. I think if you were to let most of these GT5 hardcore fans play Forza 4 for a week, they would not go back to GT5 at all.

Okay okay, I stand corrected. However, if you were in the Forza world back in the F2 days, you'd understand why I posted as I did. I did peek at a couple of the early F3 DLCs and just wasn't that thrilled by the content, so I've been out of it since 2008. After all, I only played Forza 3 for seven weeks till I got fed up with the file handling/bogging mess.

By the way, you know Gran Turismo's attitude towards cars. Include dinky cars and subcompacts that no one would think of including in a videogame. Of course, that AMX Javelin in Forza is quite amusing. ;)

*bzzt*

I played Forza 4 for two weeks solid since release day, maybe 2.5, and haven't touched it since. Sorry, we just don't get along, in spite of all the good things T10 put into it.

I have a question about forza , maybe i'm mistaken but scenes i saw forza 4 dlc with some new cars i noticed something, did they remove some cars from forza 4 ( cars which was there in forza 3 ) then sell it as dlc ? like rip off or stealing or whatever .

i'm not kidding they make DLC'S from older car that should be in the newer version of the game , is it true for what did i notice ?

I own FM and FM3 along with GT5 and every other GT. I still prefer GT's driving, especially when you hook up a G25. FM4 is much better than FM3 physics wise it's even more like GT5 in terms of handling. I enjoy both of them a lot but I play GT5 a lot more. Both have shortcomings in terms of tuning, neither allows ECU remapping which would help with setting gear ratios to match the course. No boost controllers to be seen anywhere, both need to add a little more depth to tuning. Suspension needs to be able to tune left and right side independently if need be. Trust me unless you only enjoy painting your car all day long and having overly loud exhaust notes from even the most meager cars then FM4 you will play without ever wanting GT5...but I enjoy both of these games because one takes up the slack the other dropped. Was pretty sure someone made the same boast about FM3...

DLC yes, means that there is more to come. I don't really want to hear about muscle cars as if they are the only thing the US can make. In real life muscle cars look and sound nice, but as for racing let's not get carried away. But I do think that the muscle cars that are already in the game should be premium, because they just look nifty to me. Handle like crap but meh, great for classics romp. Mustang is not a muscle car, it's a sports car. Those cars aren't made anymore, so we should include them for history sake. It's funny to watch people use them in FM4, watch as they hang on for dear life making turns, but when they hit a straight they haul much posterior.

Want to help, head over the the appropriate threads and put your thoughts there for PD to read, don't come bashing and talk junk because you feel you should sway other individuals way of thinking to your own. There are threads on this very forum that support letting PD know what additions and changes that GT5 needs to become better. Sigh, I'm going back to playing some more tune all day on Sport Tires.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

i want to play forza 4 but no one would borrow me an xbox i will buy forza 4 with my own money just to try it out

off topic > forza

why pd dont put more supercars ok we got a gtr i'm a big of it but where is the new lambo's ferrari's etc .

How did this become a forza vs gt5 thread bottom line if you dont like the dlc then dont buy it and nick off to forza. Almost every thread starts with good topics but end with "im going to go play forza" well do it then so we can keep the topic of the latest dlc on track

There's nothing wrong with bringing up Forza in these discussions. It's the direct competitor to Gran Turismo, and has offers of DLC of its own. It could be a better idea to some, and so they bring it up to debate their points on it. We can agree or disagree and make our case about it. There's nothing wrong with wanting or not wanting what that other game has because it's a good thing.

Unless you think Gran Turismo is perfect, then you'll be wanting something added or changed about it. And I don't think it is, so I'm keen to read what others have to say about how it could be better for them. Should we not be discussing the real world of motorsports because it's not Gran Turismo? ;)

Agreed. Back on topic please.

Bought my new GT5 Today (other one stopped working ONLY on my PS3. :dunce: ) Ready for the DLC now.

 You have a feeling because people are simply disagreeing with you.

It seems a lot of people have "feelings" around here. ;)

What we need is more thinking, though to be honest there are a lot of thoughtful posters on both sides. Some are just arguing for the sake of it, it seems, but oh well. Anyway, if the Big Day is Tuesday, I'm ready.

Actually, the update is tommorow. I'm guessing right after the maitnence at 12AM EST Time is when it comes out, as it did with 2.0

It might take a little longer for the DLC to show up at PS Store, like it did last time, though.

Yeah the DLC will probably be out later tuesday, but 2.02 should be out late evening monday/early-early morning Tuesday.
Which works for me cause i'm leaving for vacation wednesday

I won't go as far as his last sentence (that GT5 players would never return to it), but it is a fair comment that the majority of members who prefer Forza around here (and over at ForzaPlanet) have actually played both games. As opposed to a good amount of players laying claim to GT5 being better to FM4 without ever having tried the latter (and really, using a previous installment isn't a valid comparison).

Anywho, I imagine we'll be getting the 2.02 update fairly late Monday evening, much as we did the last few updates. The DLC though may show up a bit later, as I think it's timed with the PSN store update, not necessarily PD's own personal game updates 👍

This is exactly why I have never got in on any Forza Vs. GT aguments. I don't have a 360 (yet) and I have never played Forza, therefore I can't make a valid judgement about it. I will say that as far as cars I want in a DLC, Forza is winning that battle.

I'm not going to buy this one, because i'm not interested in these cars..only the scirocco, but 1 new car + 3 notreallynew doesn't work for me, i'll keep my money for the next one, expecially tracks. But i'm happy about the free update and the free T86, so it's ok.
No need for the usual pdsucks argument or something like that lol.

The only thing i can say it's that probably pd needs to start to think about more...organised dlc, packs etc, are more attractive to people.

I'm at an endurance race (le mans) only drive 5h until today i won't have finish it until the update :-(
Will i get it during this race or did i have to wait?
---Because of the Racing sounds ;-)
