New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

Yet another Mini and GT-R to toss on the pile, and the most recent Ford Mustang is STILL 2007 -- Bravo...

Also, why hasn't there been a way to bring over the GT4 drag strip?? It would be interesting to play that online in a mini-eliminator competition...

Neither of the DLC car packs have got me excited yet, I haven't bought either one and I'm still waiting for something interesting. Also, the price seems too high for what you get. Surely I'm not the only one who feels this way?

Something more interesting would be like the car packs that Shift2 has had in the past... like the Legends and Speedhunter packs. I'd pay money for something the equivalent of those in GT5 for sure.

They always have been free for the PC. Since it was released...
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for DLC, but it's got to be worth the cash. I know Shift2 is more of an arcade racer so not really in the same category, but if those dlc packs are free (check out the included cars), then the dlc packs so far for GT5 are pretty expensive in comparison, right?

I have a feeling the new dlc will be more expensive for us (last one was) -.- Its not like they have to deliver it here physically or anything, we always get ripped off with games/movies/music (U.S.$100+ for a new game, U.S.$350 for a console). Our Australian dollar is equal with the U.S. dollar too by the way.

Duh! They have to make it work upside down. This kind of engineering is expensive....

:)

I won't go as far as his last sentence (that GT5 players would never return to it), but it is a fair comment that the majority of members who prefer Forza around here (and over at ForzaPlanet) have actually played both games. As opposed to a good amount of players laying claim to GT5 being better to FM4 without ever having tried the latter (and really, using a previous installment isn't a valid comparison).

Anywho, I imagine we'll be getting the 2.02 update fairly late Monday evening, much as we did the last few updates. The DLC though may show up a bit later, as I think it's timed with the PSN store update, not necessarily PD's own personal game updates 👍

Yeah, I do agree with most of what he said but the last statement (in my opinion) is ridiculous, Forza is very stellar but I just don't find that incomplete, over;y-complicated design GT has that keeps me coming back.

I'm at an endurance race (le mans) only drive 5h until today i won't have finish it until the update :-(
Will i get it during this race or did i have to wait?
---Because of the Racing sounds ;-)
Don't update until after the race is finished, the race might stop. Also disconnect your internet until the race is finished just to be sure.

NO TRACKS??!? Sorry to add to the bitch list, but Y U NO GIVE TRACKS? Yes. Spa is cool and the cart track is OK but from what I have read over the last year or so on this forum is that most GTers want more tracks, not more variations on cars that are already in the game. Another Mini? Really?

I think they will give us tracks and better DLC on the next update.

All of a sudden, because of the way they released the last DLC, they had to get back to work on the whole DLC system to make it the way it should be (without limit per account, etc...) plus, the great update with the much waited wheels for standards and more, I think they didn't spent much time thinking about the current DLC. Remember, its not only putting a car in the game, they gotta test it in several consoles, conditions, etc to avoid bugs and even with that we still have some.

I'm happy with this DLC, but I bet we're going to have better content next time.

BTW, anyone knows who'll be getting the DLC first? Japan and Australia? Can't wait to see some standards with wheels changed and hear about the "sound improvements".

Keep in mind that it can take four times as long to make a track than a car, or more.

Really guys, come on?!? The pissing and moaning already and we have not gotten the DLC yet. No one is forcing you to buy it, just wait until the next round of DLC. I did the same thing with FM3 and FM4 DLC, I bought what I wanted and not stuff which I didn't like. Don't compare FM4 to GT5 because last time FM released tracks was back in FM3 and they only released one course. How long will GT5 be supported with DLC who knows, but at least this is only year one and we've been given one course thus far as DLC, but there are many more that should be coming. Only problem is the courses will be sent as updates so as to have everyone have the courses even if they didn't buy it just like with the first DLC track. More than likely if the update is around 2 gigs then it is more than just the cars being added to the main game. More or less background information for future additions. The courses and cars might be chosen ahead of time and then added during updates.

Then I'd gladly give up the 4 cars we're getting for a track.
Hey, I'd give up almost all of my Suzuki Cappucchinos and Priuses - Priusi? - for four classic tracks. :D

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, sorry...

I'd like some more course creator themes eventually, some of my favourite tracks are ones I created (er...generated) myself, the scenery gets increasingly boring though and has been for a couple of months, not sure how long it takes to create a new theme, perhaps much shorter than painstakingly recreating a real life track.

Yeah, 4 more course creator themes would be a blast... if PD team ever got a copy of TNFS (the first The Need For Speed), they could give us something road inspired... city, alpine and coast. And yeah, our so wanted point-to-point option.

Wouldn't it be up at 9:00PM EST for us North Americans? That's usually when the PSN updates.
The DLC maybe, I remember the complete pack was out quite early, but the 2.02 is gonna be out at 11PM EST.

Thought Kaz tweeted today that the DLC would be the 21st.

It'll be out here in NY at around 10 after 11 tonight like always. Thankfully I've got myself busy recreating Syllvester Stallone in Saints Row 2 and L.A. Noire due here any minute with a few other nick nacks I bought.
