New G25, problem or not

Just got my G25 today and i dont know if its a problem or not. searched the forum and didnt find an answer.

my question is that my shifter changes gears in the H patern without me pressing in the clutch. From 4th and straight into 2nd for example theres no need for me to press the clutch. is this a problem as whats the point of having a clutch then or is this normal.
also ive read here that when changing gears manually in the H shifter you have to let go off the accelerator but on mine its full foot down without any problems.
So ay help or advice would be great.

No its not a problem. You can use the H shifter without the clutch. When you set it to go in H shifter the clutch isnt enabled.

If you want to use the clutch, then press and hold triangle in the race screen. You have to do this at the start of every race in GT5.
