, yes well congrats Eddy. Your social status has just moved up a notch or so... Good job buying that card man!

;)

I fired up Half-Life a few days ago. Still runs like a dream on my GeForce 256. I'm having a hard time convincing myself that a new $300 card is worth it when my current one does all I want. But I need to get a copy of Jedi Knight 2 and see how my card handles that.

Yeah - pretty cool when your Dad gives you $1500 to spend for Christmas. ;)

$440 in Australia.

I can get them for $259. Locally. :)

The key LoudMusic, is the advanced features. Imagine running HL at a massive resolution, with 4x anti-aliasing - with the same frame rate (or better) than you're getting now.

If I got $1500 for Christmas, I wouldn't spend it on a video card that will be outdated in 6 months. I would put it on a down payment for a new car.

The one I'm getting is 128MB. :D

Can't wait 'til Wednesday - that is when I get the card put in. Want to see what I score on 3DMark.

I'm marking in the 9200 range with mine. That's with XP Pro, Athlon XP 1800+ and 512 MB of DDR at PC2100.

Far cry from the 1200s I was getting with my P2-450 and its Voodoo 3.

Radeon 9200 - only just found out about them. I don't know much about them but I know 128MB GeForce 4 Ti4600's are good.

I sleep left until I get my new card. I currently have a 16MB nVIDIA Vanta.

I may be getting a Geforce 3 Ti 500 Soon I can't afford a Geforce 4 Ti

So Eddy you got a good monitor to macth your video card?

gigo, if the ti200 is way cheaper(which i thought they were) get that. it can be overclocked to better than a ti500, while the ti500 cant overclock too much more. or get an 8500. when i got my 8500 it cost $30 less than a gf3 ti200, and its faster than a ti500.

Thanks for the input advanR I was alos thinking of getting one of them as it can also just fit my budget!

I saw on some benchmarks it owned the Geforce3 Ti500! - ATi Cards are hard to come by in NZ at cheap prices so I will stick with Nvidia's line up!
