New Idea for drift contests?

I used to mess around with this in GT3...
on the courses that had cones I could interact with, I would position them for mini gymkana's and minor chicanes in a straight.

So my Idea was, in GTPDC's and Xlink competitions maybe a cone or two could be placed in a specific area (say...inbetween turn 6 & 7 of GVS normal) and have the competitors, inbetween drifts, chacane around it...like in the D1GP?

have 1 or 2 bonus points awarded for angle and closeness to the cone, maybe?

the idea is creative, but it would never work.
Not only is it tedious, but there's no way to ensure that each competitor places the cone in exactly the same location.

better left as an idea to practice on your own [which is, admittedly, quite fun]

I used to put them at points where i knew I wanted to intiate my drift all around the track. took awhile to set up, but i would drive the same track for like 20-30 laps...

we have thought about something similar....however....coordinating such an event with so many variables is impossible....we believe the contest format we have chosen is fair to all participants.

^^

actually... seeing you in here spurred a though dking.
Something like this would work in XDGP - the track is identical for everyone in such a case.
Then again, drifting on xlink is hard enough :ill: [for me anyhow]

pratice IS key afterall...
ive thought about placing cones so that we have to take diff lines around a corner, or change some things up alot, but havent really expermented with it.

if i participate in an event like this, id fail miserably. i enjoy knocking cones over

see what i mean

anyways if this idea would somehow make it, i be a huge fan o.o
