Hi guys,

I always liked drifting and I tried in GT4 but never got too far.
Now with GT5 im willing to try on more time and train more to be successful.

That´s why I need your help..
I need to know what´s the best car to start training driffting and some tunning to the car you advise.

Thanks 👍

There needs to be a sticky for Beginning Drifters. Theres several Trains of Thought on How to go about Drifting. I'm not all that great instructing others on How to Drift. I would rather say just go into one of many rooms online and practice. A good starter car is an 83 Levin or Trueno, but anything RWD will do. You can leave it stock until you outgrow the settings and by then you'll have gotten the basic idea. Basically observe your entry speed, Turn in using E-brake, Steady on the Accelerator, Counter Steer. Practice makes perfect.

Thanks for help.
I have a ds3 and a logithech driving force EX.
Wich do you reccomend?About the car I was thinking in the S15..

When I started I had some problems, too.

You should start with low power cars like the Nissan S13. Just a cheap sport suspension (make it a bit harder and ad 2-3 chamber) and a little more power (chip, exhaust).
With those slow cars you can drive through the corners full throttle and completely concentrate on the steering.

Here's a video of mine, includes settings. Maybe it helps you.

i disagree, i would use the nissan s15. easy to drift, and you can get the racing modification for it so it looks awesome. the pic above my location is the s15 with rm

I started with the BMW M3 Coupe. Seemed to work good for me. Make sure you look up settings though. There is a good thread here for settings.

Good Luck

This was very helpful, holy cow drifting is addictive! I didn't buy this particular car but I have the AE86 Corolla and I started working on this last night, it can be frustrating at times, but when you pull off a good drift it's very rewarding!

Start with an FC or an s13. AE86s are a little more tricky to drift because they're shorter.as far as mods keep the stock turbo for a while(if it has one) and get the fully adjustable suspension, and transmission.

Hey, there fellow drifter. Just add me and ill happily teach u how to drift (deadly310 is my psn name feel free to add) ill be online at the weekends and sometimes on the weekdays around 4:00 till 5:45. In my oppinion i would use the fairlady z or 370z in north america

You can use the DS3 to understand how to initiate and control a drift but don't spend too much time on it as the skills used on the DS3 to a wheel is completely different and will not make you better. Just get the feel of initiating a drift by feinting (flick the car away from the corner then flick it back to face the corner which creates weight transfer) and learn how to accel control as well as counter-steer control. Once you figure this out move on to the wheel and it'll just be practice from there on out.

I kind of disagree. The Hachi isn't difficult because it's shorter, actually it's better because of it's 50/50 weight Distribution and Light weight. What makes it difficult to Drift is the general lack of HP, which means you gotta stay on top of It. It's a great training car, once you master it, you will be able to Drift any HP car out there. 83 levin was the first car in GT5 I bought period.

Also you do not need the Fully adjustable Suspension nor the transmission to learn to Drift. In fact don't even adjust your tranny or Suspension until you get the Basics down.
