There's some new info on the official Japanese GT4 site regarding Photomode. If anyone can do a trranslation, that would be nice.

http://www.playstation.jp/scej/title/gt4/campaign.html

Babelfish translation:

'The photograph of the 2L edition of GT4 ' Photo mode is the panel which the amount equipment is done with amount of the paper make. Reservation benefit transfers when purchasing. Benefit as soon as to be gone, becomes end. As for the picture of Graphic Frame there are 5 types. Furthermore, we cannot receive the appointment of the picture. Acknowledgement you ask beforehand.'

There is also a recommended retail price of YEN 7,665, which equates to USD 70 or GBP 40

nope.
I'd expect GT4 to retail more at 30GBP online.

Agreed. While I'm not too keen on European game prices, a typical new-release here in America is always at $49.99. While occasionally less, it's never more (except in cases where the package contains something extra, like Mortal Kombat's bonus disc, SOCOM's headset, or FFXI's hard drive). Since Japan is the only one getting this "special edition" of the game, I fully expect GT4 to retail for the same price every other game retails for... fifty bucks.

I can back him on this - games are never (well, rarely) more than $50 USD. Run your conversion calculators on that. After hearing what you guys are paying I guess I should stop complaining about costs.

The game is gonna be 50 bucks in the states, they cant get away with charging anything more.

RedOak
well even if they charge more, i'm sure you're gonna buy it anyways?

My thoughts too. Sony is already screwing us...why wouldn't they put a little salt in the wound with higher prices, I wouldn't put it by them. Games are already too much as it is, I don't see why europeans would put up with that price, 80 dollars is rediculous. Console games SHOULD go the way of the PC game.

$50 for new release games that have had a lot of reseach/time put into them. i.e. Doom 3 (PC), GT4 (console).

$40 for anticipated new release game, Driver 3 (console), Battlefield Vietnam (PC)

$30 for normal releases.

$20 and under for Older games (6 monthes to a year old)

Someone had the nerve to come up with a topic called "I'm not paying $50 for an incomplete game." Well, if you bought GT3, you already HAVE what some consider an incomplete game.

I'm cool with the price. I'll just try to get the latest Logitech steering wheel for Christmas and try to get GT4 before Christmas. Or if the bundle package comes in and isn't too expensive, I'll get the bundle. I'll pay the pay. I'll play the play. And for dogonne sure, I'll be playing GT4 after having waited a while. GT4 is going to be my "GTA: San Andreas," my "HALO 2," my... whatever else pop-culture critically-anticipated game you may think of.

Me too, but I'm going to pick up GTA: San Andreas in 5 days to ease my tension and stress from waiting for GT4. :sly:

When was the last time a game in the United States ever cost more than $50 without anything extra? Its never happened to my knowledge. If it has, please inform me.

if it costs more than 50 dollars US, and there is nothing extra, I am going to be one cranky asshole. Crankier than usual, at any rate.

That's outrageous, and I hope it's just speculation.
